Overview of Staff and Training

Our staff is composed of various professionals, including nurses, caregivers, dining staff, housekeeping, maintenance, and administrative personnel. Each team member undergoes specialized training relevant to their role. This includes certification in CPR, first aid, and emergency response. Additionally, ongoing educational programs ensure that our staff remain up-to-date with the latest in senior care practices.

Safety and Well-Being Measures

We have multiple safety measures in place to ensure the well-being of our residents. These include 24-hour security officers, cameras throughout The Village, pull cords in the apartment bathrooms, and an “up and ok” system. All community doors are locked, except for the main entrance and fitness center entrance. These doors are locked after the concierge leaves at 8 PM.

Support Services for Transition

We offer assistance from Signature Organizing Service, a professional organizing company, to help residents with moving into the community. This includes creating a floor plan, packing, moving, and unpacking. We cover a portion of the cost, which depends on the home you choose, as a gesture of appreciation for selecting Westminster Village.

Transportation Services

Yes, we offer transportation services for residents to ensure ease and convenience in commuting.

Dining Experience

Residents have multiple dining options. The Crossroads dining room is open for lunch and dinner, offering both buffet and table service with a monthly cycle menu that changes with the season, alongside an ala carte menu. The Village Pub offers a variety of choices from appetizers to seafood. The Village Café serves made-to-order breakfast and a range of lunch options. A meal plan is included with your monthly service fee for apartment residents, while it is optional for cottage or hybrid home residents.

Addressing Resident Complaints

Residents may relay any concerns to their resident council representative or directly to the department director or executive director for urgent issues.

Communication with Families

Before move-in, we collect advance directives and emergency contacts. Our Wellness Navigator and nurse maintain communication with families about their loved one's condition and assist with transitions to different care levels when necessary.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

We do not offer respite stays in Independent Living. There is one respite apartment in Assisted Living at $249/day, though it is currently unavailable.

Pet-Friendly Policy

Yes, we are a pet-friendly community with a $500 non-refundable deposit upon move-in.

Waitlist Information

We have varied wait times depending on the type of home. The wait for a cottage is approximately 3-5 years. One-bedroom apartments are currently available, but larger apartments have a wait time of about 6 months to 1 year. One hybrid home is available now, with a wait time of about a year once filled.

Vaccination Availability

Yes, residents are able to receive Covid and flu vaccinations within the community.

Aging in Place

Yes, residents may age in place as long as they are not a threat to themselves or others. This may involve hiring in-home help or, if necessary, moving to assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing facilities.
