Overview of Staff and Training
Our facility is staffed with a variety of healthcare professionals dedicated to ensuring the well-being of our residents. This includes 24-hour nurses and certified nursing assistants, along with physical, occupational, and speech therapists. We have our own on-site wound care nurse for specialized care. Our medical team includes Dr. Michael Umland, our medical director, who visits monthly for routine check-ups and sees residents more frequently if needed for acute visits. Nurse Practitioner Rebecca Mielke also participates in resident care. Nurses maintain contact with doctors via fax for non-emergent issues.Safety and Well-being Measures
To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, daily activities are organized to maintain quality of life, including beloved pastimes and activities like bingo, live music, and card games. Safety measures in place include call lights in rooms, which caregivers ensure are within reach before leaving a room. Our exit doors are alarmed but not locked, enhancing safety while respecting residents' autonomy.Transition Support Services
We assist residents transitioning into the community with the help of our two social workers who are pivotal in the discharge process. They organize care conference meetings upon admission to address any questions, ensuring residents leave with all necessary medical equipment and services.Transportation Services
Our facility offers complimentary wheelchair van pick-up from the hospital. We also provide transportation for medical appointments in the Wausau area at a reasonable rate of $16 each way or $32 round trip.Dining Experience
The rehab dining room features large windows that let in ample sunlight, especially during the winter months. The long-term dining area's windows provide a view of our patio, which is enjoyable for residents and families during summer.Complaint and Issue Resolution Process
We handle complaints via 'concern reports,' which can be initiated by any staff member to be addressed by our administration and social workers. Customer satisfaction surveys are distributed five days post-admission for timely issue resolution.Communication with Families
Families are included in interdisciplinary care conferences within a week of admission to address questions. Daily in-person communication with families is maintained while respecting medical confidentiality, dictated by residents' preferences.Short-Term or Respite Stays
We offer short-term or respite stays, with prior communication about associated costs. For patients enrolled in hospice at home, their benefits may cover these costs.Pet-Friendly Community
Our community is pet-friendly, and residents are encouraged to interact with visiting animals, enriching both residents' and staff experiences.Vaccinations
Residents have access to both COVID-19 and flu vaccinations within our community.Aging in Place
Residents who initially enter for rehab but cannot return home can remain with us. We facilitate the transition to assisted living if needed, or accommodate them in our long-term unit when available. We provide guidance through Medicaid application processes for extended care.Room Availability and Costs
We have no waitlist for long-term beds. Medicaid coverage extends to semi-private rooms only, with specific private pay options provided upon inquiry. For pricing & availability call (866) 204-9238
