Nursing Staff at Waunakee Valley
As for our nursing staff at Waunakee Valley, we offer a wide variety of disciplines. We are staffed with licensed RN's, LPN's, and CNA's. We offer classes for our staff to receive these licenses as well if they are not already and at no cost to them. This is a program that we are very proud of as we are always looking for the most dedicated and educated employees to give the best care for our residents. Along with that, we offer Continuing Education courses for our staff to grow their knowledge in their fields.
Services Offered
As for services, please see what we have to offer:
- Our Life Enrichment Director is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who specializes in creating a routine for our residents to keep them engaged 7 days a week, from 9am-7pm daily.
- We have our own therapy team that ranges from Occupational, Speech, and Physical therapy to guide our residents through ways to discharge back to their homes or previous living spaces safely through daily rehab services. Not only do we offer short term rehab services, but we also offer long term rehab to those in house.
- Environmental Services provides housekeeping services as well as laundry to ensure that the residents' living space is tidy and well-kept. Paired with this team is our fantastic Plant Operations, or Maintenance team that works around the clock to ensure that the facility is in good repair and address any issues there may be in a timely manner.
- Our admissions team consists of a Director of Sales and Admissions Coordinator for all of our communities (Assisted, Independent, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Care which is coming in the near future).
- Our Social Services team is always ready to assist with any resident concerns as well as family concerns. They offer family and resident meetings within the first few days of admission and also check in annually to make sure that everyone is satisfied with the services they are receiving.
- Our Business Office Manager is in charge of billing and is always happy to help with finances in any way that she can.
- Our nursing team offers flu and COVID vaccination clinics where the residents can receive their shots if they choose to do so.
Staff Training
As for trainings, all staff are apart of mandatory quarterly trainings/in-services. When it comes to the safety of our residents, we offer active shooter, bomb threat, fire, severe weather, and elopement training quarterly on all shifts so everyone is aware of what the expectations are during these events if they are to occur. Our breakrooms have education for our staff to know how to properly disclose a safety issue throughout the building. Our doors automatically lock after 8pm and open back up at 7am and elevators shut off during this time as well. Our staff are also given hard copies and virtual copies of policies on these situations.
New Resident Orientation
Our Director of Sales Representative is proud to offer a 5-day check in with new residents, and they are also welcomed with our Welcoming Committee that is made up of hand selected residents to help acclimate them as we understand it can be an overwhelming time. Waunakee Valley also provides "Resident First Meetings," which is a meeting that family members and residents are invited to where all the head of departments attend to go over what services they provide and answer any questions/concerns residents or family members may have. After a year of residing with us, we do another check-in just to make sure things are still going as they were promised when you first admit.
Transportation Services
When it comes to transportation services, we have a Medical Records team that is happy to set up transportation to and from any medical appointments, as well as admissions/discharge rides. If our Life Enrichment van is available, our Transportation Associate offers rides as well.
Dining Experience
The unique dining experience at our campus is one that is incomparable to our competitors. Something that makes us stand out is that we offer a wide variety of menu items that our residents can choose what they eat on a daily basis based on their preferences. Our Director of Food Services offers a weekly service called "Chef Circle" in which residents can talk directly to the Culinary team to discuss what is going well and what could possibly be better. As we all know, food is very important to everyone's lives and wellbeing and we want to ensure that our residents are not only receiving their favorite foods, but getting the dining experience that is 5-Star restaurant quality.
Grievance Process
Our grievance process is how we help guarantee that any concerns brought our way are solved on a timely basis. When a resident or family member has a concern, we have a Resident Concern Form that is filled out that collects the details and department the issue is regarding. That sheet then goes to our Social Services team in which they address the topic with the department leader involved in the issue. The leader is then responsible for addressing and resolving the issue. Social Services will follow up with the concern within 24-48 hours. To ensure that things are being addressed, Social Services monitors for follow-through.
Pet Policy
In regard to your question about being pet friendly, we can proudly say YES! This includes small dogs, cats, and any other small animal that you may have. However, in the Health Care Center, we have a pet policy where animals can visit, but cannot reside with the residents.
Living Styles and Rates
We offer several different layouts when it comes to our living styles.
- Assisted Living rates are as follows:
- Studio: $3179/month
- 1-bed: $3609/month
- 2-bed: $3949/month
- Health Center rate is $469/day for a private room.
All of these rates include meals, laundry, housekeeping, 24-hour help, activities, and utilities. Any additional assistance or an increased level of care, as well as pet fees, will increase the price.
Communication with Families
To keep up communication with families or loved ones, we have a policy in place where we have a Family Call System in which someone from our leadership team will call up to 72 hours after admission. Along with that, we will call on the 45th day after admission. These calls are so our team can ensure that their loved one is up to date and satisfied with our services. If there are any issues or conflicts within these calls, a concern form is filled out and the issue is addressed with whomever it concerns. Families are also welcome to attend the annual care plan meetings in which our Social Worker will send out an invite.
Short-term and Respite Stays
We are proud to offer short-term and respite stays for up to 30 days. No one is obligated to stay the full 30 days, however. If you want to stay more than 30 days, the rates will increase to the prices I have listed previously.
- Studio costs $129/day
- 1-bed costs $149/day
- 2-bed costs $159/day
Aging in Place
As of now, we do not have a wait list. This goes along with your question about aging in place. When someone moves into our community, they have priority to move to any open vacancies within the campus before anyone outside of the community admits, whether it be because their room isn't the ideal fit, they need short-term rehab services, or hospice services that come to the resident rather than moving them around.
After all of that information, I hope this finds you well. Please let me know if there's anything I can better assist you with or further explain. Please see my contact information below. I am looking forward to meeting you and your loved one and would be happy to provide you a guided tour at your convenience!
