Could you provide an overview on the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
In our Assisted Living and Memory Care we have care staff, trained med techs, Wellness Coordinators, and a Resident Care Manager. All of our care staff are trained Waltonwood employees and have to go through a minimum two-week training course. All staff also has to go through a class to get dementia certified. We have several CNA’s on staff as well as a nurse who is our Resident Care Manager.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
We have several measures in place the first being all residents will receive a push pendant that they are encouraged to wear at all times. This is used not only for emergencies but also if they need help with anything. Also, there are room checks every 2-3 hours depending on their care plan. Care staff is in the building 24/7 and check on the residents, when our staff enter the apartment they push a button on the wall and there is a log recording each apartment check.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
We recommend and work with several different resources such as, moving companies, downsizing specialists, VA assistance, and also have support groups that can help make the transition much easier.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
We have a driver and a bus that will go anywhere within 10 miles free of charge.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
Three meals a day are offered and all meals take place in our large dining room. Breakfast is buffet style and lunch/dinner are restaurant style with several options to chose from daily.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
The resident or the family would go directly to our Executive Director or the direct manager pertaining to the type of issue. The management team is great with communication and is easily accessible for any questions/concerns. There is also a monthly resident council in which all managers are present and residents can voice any concerns they would like to be addressed.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
We have an emailing system we use that family members are added to for community updates, community events, and we also send activity calendars. There are also quarterly care conferences with our Resident Care managers if there are a change of condition or per family’s request.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
A respite stay is anywhere from 2 weeks to 90 day stays. Starting rate for a respite is $213 a day but may go up depending on the resident’s level of care and med level. Theses levels are determined by an assessment from our nurse prior to moving in.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Yes, we are pet friendly. The cost for having a pet is a $200 one-time fee and then it is $25 a month per animal.
Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Currently we have a few one-bedroom apartments currently available. For a 2 Bedroom we don’t have any currently available so there is currently a waitlist.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Annually we offer flu vaccination clinics right at the community. We have offered covid vaccination clinics in the past at the community, but at this time haven’t received word as to another one being scheduled or not.
Are residents able to age in place?
Yes, we offer both Assisted Living and Memory Care if needed in the future.
