Welcome and Levels of Care

You are very welcome, and I am happy to answer your questions. I do want to share that Walnut Ridge offers all levels of care, so some of your questions might have several answers based on the level of housing you might be considering.

Resident Care Associates in Assisted Living

We have resident care associates that work in our Assisted Living who can be certified through an agency prior to being hired, or they receive on-the-job training from our Resident Care Director who is a registered nurse. They are required to do over 20 hours of online training and continued education throughout the year.

Emergency Procedures

We have policies and training procedures for emergency situations regarding inclement weather, fire, or other natural disasters. We will work with local emergency agencies as well. Our assisted living residents are checked on by our resident care staff and also have an Urgent Call system in their apartment.

Orientation and Escorting

Our Assisted Living residents are escorted to and from meals and activities and introduced to other residents for the first 5 days of moving in. For Independent Residents, we provide another tour and introduce them to a resident ambassador to attend meals and activities.

Transportation

We have a community shuttle that will transport residents to different shopping locations once per week. We are working to provide more private transportation that could provide transports to other areas.

Dining Experience

Our dining experience is restaurant-style dining that offers made-to-order breakfasts, specials at lunch and dinner, and an always available menu. All three meals are included with Assisted Living, and Independent residents are charged according to what they order. Breakfast & Lunch average between $5-8 per meal, and dinner is $13.

Open Door Policy

We have an open-door policy with our Campus Administrator as well as our Housing Administrator for residents who need to address concerns.

Assisted Living Assessments

With Assisted Living, our Resident Care Director conducts an assessment every 90 days, and families can be a part of that care conference. The Resident Care Director can be called at any time to provide a report on how the loved one is doing. We are unable to provide welfare updates on Independent Residents as we do not provide any welfare/cares for them.

Respite and Short-Term Stays

We do not offer respite or short-term stays. We do have guest suites available for family members to rent if they are out of town visiting loved ones for $90 per night, or they are welcome to stay in the loved one's apartment at no charge.

Pet Friendly Community

We are a pet-friendly community.

Vacancy and Waitlist

We currently have vacancies and only use a waitlist for a potential resident if they are requesting a specific apartment/want/request that is not available.

Vaccinations

Residents can receive a flu or COVID vaccination.

Options for Independent Residents

Independent residents do have the option to bring an outside agency into their apartment to provide care if they are not wanting to move to Assisted Living.
