Management Team
My management team includes: Executive Director, Business Office Manager, Dietary Service Director, Director of Nurses, Maintenance Director, and Activities Director. All Managers have leadership training done by ED at least weekly. Continuing Education is done 2x’s monthly.
Other Staff
Other Staff includes: Care Partners (2 on every shift, around the clock), Dietary aides and cooks, housekeeping. Everyone has training at least 2x’s per month. Managers have individualized training (Dietary & Nursing) to ensure we are giving the highest standard of care at all times.
Resident Safety
We have pendants that the resident wears (it is waterproof), and pull stations in the bedrooms and bathrooms of our apartments. When the pendants or pull stations are engaged, the care partners and front desk are notified of resident needing assistance.
We have a nurse 5 days a week and I am also a nurse (ED) on weekends, holidays, vacations, etc. One or both of us are on call 24 hours 7 days a week.
Resident Ambassador
We have a Resident Ambassador who is introduced to the resident upon admission and follows up with the resident several times in the first month at the facility. We allow family or personal caregivers to stay while the resident is transitioning to the facility.
Transportation Services
We have transportation services to all medical appointments. It can be used for other appointments but all medical appointments come first on the transport schedule. When we have 2 or 3 at the same time, we take them all early so everyone gets to appointments on time.
Dining Services
We offer 3 meals a day and snacks, as well as an all-available menu just in case someone didn’t prefer our meal or alternate. The dining room is always open. We have times for meals, but we take care of the residents as individuals.
Grievance Policy
A) We have a grievance policy for anyone who has a complaint. The complaint is reviewed by the Management Team, an investigation is done, intervention is brought back to the grievance holder, then a 2-week follow-up will be done to see the process is working.
B) Communication is open with POA, and all designees related to HIPPAA.
C) We have Care Plans with families every 6 months or as family requests. There are times when a significant change has occurred and the Management Team calls POA for a change in resident condition.
Respite Stays
We do offer respite stays, no longer than 60 days. It costs $125.00 a day.
Pet Policy
We are pet-friendly, but the resident must be able to take care of all pet needs including grooming, toileting, and immunizations.
Health Services
We do a FLU clinic each season by Herrin Drug. If a resident wants any booster for COVID-19, we will provide transport.
Aging in Place
Yes, our residents are able to age in place to a certain extent. For example, we cannot be committed to every 2-hour or less care, we do not have hoyer lifts, and we will not handle morphine for Hospice patients. We can do many things but at times people may need long-term care.
I hope this has been helpful. If you would like to speak in person, please call 618-993-1997. Thank you for your questions.
