Overview of Staff and Training
Every employee goes through a criminal and background check, orientation and training, and continued training. This includes elder abuse and neglect, blood borne pathogens and training specific to their job duties. Our care staff are licensed CNA's, our Resident Care Director is an LPN, and we have an RN that oversees our community. We employ our Executive Director, Community Relations Director, Business Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, Activities/Life Enrichment Director, Maintenance Director, Dining Director, and numerous housekeepers, kitchen servers, cooks, and care staff.Safety and Well-Being Measures
We ensure that staff have training with elopement and other safety drills, utilize pull cords and pendants and track response times, do a minimum of 3 safety checks per day with residents, and quickly communicate with walkie talkies to all floors.Support Services for Resident Transition
Absolutely! Especially in the first couple of weeks with invitations to attend meal times and activities, and frequent check ins. We try to pair them up with a buddy that may have something in common with them, especially at meal times, and offer a resident ambassador group to assist with the official welcome of new residents.Transportation Services
Yes, we have scheduled transportation available. We take our residents to their doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and other fun outings all the time.Dining Experience
We eat restaurant style, meaning when residents come to a meal, they sit at a table, and servers come and take their order and bring them their drinks, food, and dessert. If someone didn't want what was on the main menu, there is an "anytime menu" available to choose from anytime the kitchen is open.Process for Addressing Complaints
We encourage residents to address the complaint with the person or supervisor of the person whom the complaint is for. There is always the Care Director, or Executive Director accessible to connect with if original complaints were not handled to the residents satisfaction. Above our community, our home office will always lend a helping hand, or the state offers an ombudsman for support.Communication with Residents' Families
We communicate via phone and email mostly. We will always call in an emergency, and we will communicate via care conferences on status changes or overall well being of the resident.Short-Term or Respite Stays
Yes, we offer short term stays wherever there is an available unit; it is one of our options if there is a vacancy. The cost is $250/day with a minimum of 14 day stay, and maximum of 30 days without converting to a standard move in.Pet-Friendly Community
Yes, pets bring smiles and improve quality of life, pain; all sorts of benefits. There are weight limits to pets, typically under 25lbs. There is a one-time pet fee of $1000 due upon move in, and up-to-date vaccines and records are required.Covid and Flu Vaccinations
Yes, we have an annual flu clinic that comes to Spiritwood, and same for Covid shots and boosters.Aging in Place
That is always the goal. To be the last move. If someone were to need assistance, we simply bring services to them so they may age in place. We can assist all the way through hospice care if that is what is recommended. For pricing & availability call (866) 204-9238
