Do you guys currently have a waitlist?

No waitlist, currently.

Could you share pricing and any other general information?

Typically insurance will cover someone's long term or short term stay with us. Depending on what insurance covers will determine if the prospect resident/family has any out of pocket charges. Our financial team would look into insurances/finances prior to admission.

Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?

We have 24-hour nursing staff that consist of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, Physical, Occupational and Speech therapists, Social Workers, Dietician, Medical Doctors/Nurse Practitioners, Recreational staff, dining team, housekeeping, and maintenance.

Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?

We abide by all NY State guidelines and regulations when providing safety and care to each resident. This is a very broad question, so if you have anything specific you would like to know, please feel free to ask.

Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?

Yes, our social work team is continuously working with different residents and their families to discharge them back into the community, whether it is home, assisted living, community programs, etc. They have a network of community partners that help our residents transition.

Do you offer transportation services for residents?

We assist in setting up transportation, usually through access-a-ride. This depends on a few factors such as insurance and residents' level of independence.

Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?

We provide 3 meals a day. Meals are prepared in the kitchen and transferred to what we call our "hot trays", and then we serve the food on warm plates in front of the resident. Meals are served on all 3 floors and even the main dining room in the lobby. Additionally, we always have an RN supervisor monitoring residents and assisting during meal times.

What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?

Typically, any concern can be brought to any team member to address. If it needs to be escalated to management then it's important to get the resident's concern to any director or supervisor, or even the administrator directly.

What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?

Nursing usually takes point on communicating with residents' loved ones on how they are doing. Families can get calls from therapy, recreation, and social work team members as well for their specific disciplines.

Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?

We do not offer respite stays. That is typically done at Assisted Livings. We provide short term and long term stays for our residents.

Are you all a pet-friendly community?

No, this is also an Assisted Living accommodation, as it's more of a private residential setting. We do not allow pets to live in the facility but occasionally recreation will coordinate pet therapy programs so our residents can interact with the different pets.

Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?

Yes, both can be provided as the residents or family's request. You would just have to let someone on our nursing team know and they can set it up.

Are residents able to age in place?

Yes, our facility is primarily a long term care facility where many people have chosen to call Verrazano their home. No waitlist, currently.
