Question 1
Each and every team member must successfully complete our training manuals and Hands on training by the manager of that department on rule regulations and compliances the Hawthorn Company implements and expects. Each team member must understand how each department operates and the rules and regulations each department must adhere to.
Question 2
In our training all employees must go through and pass the safety measures course given by Hawthorn Company. Each member walks through scenarios with the team manager and is evaluated then given a certificate of completion.
Question 3
In our resident Council meeting with all the residents we have implemented residents who have volunteered to become ambassadors who welcome and support and guide the new residents through the transition as a mentor.
Question 4
Transportation services include Tuesday and Thursday Doctor appointments for our residents. On the other days we have a sign-up sheet for our residents to attend grocery shopping, Walmart, Target, Dollar Store and much more. Our activity manager will also have outings to the local art museum, lunch outings, theater, etc.
Question 5
Ben, the way I describe the dining experience on a tour is it's like watching an orchestra, each waiter or waitress playing their own personal instrument with their personalities and compassion while keeping everyone's integrity as a priority. This is all conducted by our amazing, professional, and talented executive Chef. Every meal is prepared fresh and by hand, from the hot rolls that come out to the delightful desserts he prepares. Potential residents and family members get to experience a complimentary lunch while touring. Our executive chef, even while serving, takes the time to introduce himself to potential residents, showcasing his personal touch during the meal. It's a sight to see and witness.
Question 6
As spoken about prior, we hold resident council meetings along with a chef meeting, so residents can address anything to our team. Each department manager must be in attendance to answer any questions or concerns. Our Manager and Assistant Manager have an open-door policy, and in resident council, she expresses with compassion that anyone can come to her with anything they want an answer to. Our concierge also addresses many family calls and is able to assist with anyone's concerns or questions.
Question 7
Our studio apartments start at approximately $3285 a month, 1-bedroom apartments start at approximately $4025, and 2-bedroom apartments start at approximately $4825. We have over 40 different layouts, so the price is based on the square footage.
Question 8
We have a pendant that each resident is given and shown how to use. If a situation arises, it alerts our manager, and we can respond in seconds. The alert will also pull the family contact information page on her screen, ensuring contact with the family is made along with the police department and fire department.
Question 9
Respite and short-term stays are welcome. The rent for the particular room style remains the same as we are on a month-to-month lease agreement. You would just need to give a 30-day notice to the manager when wanting to end the lease agreement.
Question 10
We are absolutely a pet-friendly community, as they are family members to the owner and become part of our family. I even have pupperonis in my desk; when residents walk by, they know to come into my office for a treat.
Question 11
This is a great question. Yes, we have a waitlist. This is a $100 deposit that is fully refundable. This means when a particular room is requested along with the time frame a potential resident wants to move in, I become their personal concierge service and inform them when the room desired is available.
Question 12
As we are an independent living community, we do not offer COVID vaccines. Residents are able to go to doctors' appointments and receive the vaccine.
Question 13
The answer is absolutely, we have a care company that rents space on our third floor. This is a separate entity from us, but they offer discounted care options or packages to our residents. We can go all the way to hospice.
