Overview of Professional Staff and Training

Our facility is staffed with a range of healthcare professionals including RNs, LPNs, a Director of Nursing (DON), an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), CNAs, and resident care aides. We ensure 24-hour nursing and caregiver support, adhering to Assisted Living guidelines for monthly trainings. These sessions cover essential skills such as transfers, gait belt use/safety, CPR, and the Heimlich maneuver. Our in-house therapy department provides physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and speech therapy (ST), and conducts in-services for our staff. Specifically for our Memory Care staff, we offer courtyard training tailored to the needs of residents with Alzheimer's and dementia.

Safety and Well-being Measures

To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, we conduct frequent rounds and provide Assisted Living residents with a pendant for immediate assistance. This pendant also helps monitor the resident's location, including if they move beyond a certain distance outside the community. Our Maintenance Director leads regular safety drills, including fire, tornado, and elopement drills. Additionally, management staff are required to work one weekend day each month to maintain a high level of oversight.

Transition Support Services

We offer a resident ambassador program to help new residents adjust to the community.

Transportation Services

Our transportation schedule includes trips to Champaign/Urbana on Monday and Tuesday, Mahomet on Wednesday, and is open for last-minute appointments or emergencies on Thursday. Fridays are reserved for activities, including shopping and lunch outings.

Dining Experience

We offer a restaurant-style dining experience with flexible meal times and no assigned seating. Residents can order from the daily menu or choose from an anytime menu if they prefer something different.

Resident Complaint and Issue Resolution

Grievance forms are available and checked daily to ensure prompt attention to any resident complaints or issues. The Executive Director is responsible for acknowledging receipt within 24 hours and resolving the issue within 5 days, with all forms stored electronically for accountability.

Communication with Residents' Families

While there is no formal policy, our Executive Director communicates monthly or bimonthly with families about activities, policies, procedures, and any illnesses. Nursing staff will directly contact families for any changes in a resident's condition.

Short-term and Respite Stays

We offer respite stays with a minimum of 30 days, costing $250/day for Assisted Living and $300/day for Memory Care, plus a Level of Care cost determined after an assessment. A $2,000 nonrefundable community fee is also required for respite stays.

Pet-Friendly Community

Our community welcomes pets with a one-time nonrefundable fee of $500. Residents are responsible for their pet's care, and family visits with pets are allowed.

COVID and Flu Vaccinations

COVID and Flu vaccines are available onsite for our residents.

Aging in Place

Our community supports aging in place, offering a variety of apartment options including studios, 1-bedroom, 1-bedroom courtyard apartments, and 2-bedrooms, all in line with Assisted Living guidelines.
