This detailed information was received through an email from the Health Services Sales Counselor at The Terraces At Skyline via email on 2024-07-22.

Overview of Staff and Training

Within our clinical care side, we have RNs, CNAs, and LPNs. We also share a medical director, Dr. Hansen, with our sister community, Park Shore. Dr. Hansen provides primary care for many of our assisted living residents. Additionally, we have on-site speech, occupational, and physical therapists, as well as personal trainers who specialize in senior fitness. All of our clinical staff undergo a thorough onboarding process that takes weeks to complete. This ensures that our care team remains consistent and cohesive throughout our Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Support floors. I have cc'd our Director of Nursing, Michael, should you have any further questions about our medical team or care.

Safety and Well-being Measures

We take pride in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents by having only 12 apartments per floor in assisted living, which ensures that care is always nearby. With skilled nursing available within "The Terraces," our health services tower, there is always an RN close by if needed. All residents in The Terraces are provided with pendants for everyday activities or emergencies. Each room has emergency pull cords placed strategically, such as in the bathroom and next to the bed. Our assisted living apartments do not have cooking appliances, only microwaves, as all meals are provided and encouraged to be taken in our dining room, although meals can also be delivered to residents. We also have a robust activities and events calendar to ensure residents find routines and community within Skyline. The monthly rent/service fee includes weekly laundry and housekeeping.

Resources and Support Services

We often match new residents with current ones for meals to help them get to know people within the community. We have an in-house chaplain, Sao, who runs various support groups and offers 1:1 meetings with residents upon request. I have cc'd him on this email if you'd like to discuss what he offers directly.

Transportation Services

We offer transportation for residents within 1.5 miles of Skyline for free. For trips further, there is a charge comparable to Uber/Lyft for extended transportation costs.

Dining Experience

Our restaurant dedicated to Assisted Living residents is called "The Cedars." We offer all three meals in the dining room. Residents can have food delivered to their room or eat in our independent living options, with an upcharge applying in these cases. Our fantastic dining team, including nutritionists, ensures that residents receive an appropriate diet based on their needs.

Handling Complaints and Issues

We take complaints and feedback from residents very seriously. Our team gathers every morning to troubleshoot and address issues, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Issues, big or small, like food not being cooked to someone's liking, are documented and tackled comprehensively.

Cost of Living

Our assisted living starts at a $20,000 community fee and then $6,790/month plus care costs for a studio. The community fee for a one-bedroom is $25,000, with rent at $8,500/month plus care costs. Care costs are determined by a point system, with points costing $80/month. Care points typically range between 15-40, though we can accommodate higher care needs. I have attached a pricing sheet for reference.

Communication with Residents' Families

This is handled on a case-by-case basis. If the resident is the decision-maker, we communicate with families based on their requests. If a POA is involved, we follow their instructions. Communication can be via phone call or email from our resident care team.

Short-term or Respite Stays

We offer respite stays ranging from a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 30 days. The cost varies between $275-$450/day, depending on the type of accommodation and care required.

Pet-friendly Policy

We are a pet-friendly community, with many residents in assisted living and independent living owning cats and dogs. There is a pet deposit associated with having a pet.

Current Waitlist Status

We do not currently have a waitlist for our assisted living. However, our memory support typically runs full, with one current opening.

Vaccinations

We offer COVID and flu vaccinations to our residents.

Aging in Place Policy

Our assisted living license only extends to our Terraces tower. Having this dedicated space ensures proper staffing and care proximity. Independent residents transitioning to higher levels of care typically move into our Terraces or hire private home care.
