Overview of Staff and Training
Our leadership team includes: - **Executive Director** – Assisted Living Administrator who oversees the day-to-day operations of the community. - **Business Office Manager** - Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintains resident and staff records. - **Resident Care Coordinator** – Manages the scheduling, organizing, and care management for each resident, oversees the QMAPs and Caregivers, and manages their schedules. - **Activity Director** – Leads life enrichment programming, fosters resident relationships with 1:1 and group interactions, prepares the monthly activity calendar, drives the bus for scenic drives, shopping trips, museums, and other outings, and coordinates volunteers and entertainment. - **Dietary Manager** – Oversees the dining experience and dietary staff, prepares menus, and orders food. Additionally, our staff includes maintenance, housekeeping, QMAPs (administer medications), Caregivers, Cooks, and Dietary aides. **Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP):** An individual who has passed a competency evaluation administered by the Department of Health. **On-going Annual Staff Trainings Include:** - Hand hygiene - Infection control - Care and services - Emergency response and procedures - Recognizing emergencies - Relevant emergency contact numbers - Fire response - Basic first aid - First Aid & CPR - Illness, injury, death of a resident - Occurrence reporting - Resident Rights & House Rules - Dementia training - Locating advanced directives - Person-Centered Care - Fall Prevention - Food SafetySafety and Well-being Measures
Our community is staffed 24/7, and residents are assigned a pendant that alerts staff when they need assistance, monitored by a computer system.Support Services for Residents' Transition
- **New Resident Orientation:** Includes an overview of house rules, general information, policies, resident rights, and a tour with the Executive Director. - **Orientation with Resident Care Coordinator:** Covers dietary needs, microwave assessment, housekeeping assignment, shower assistance, Care Plan, and medications. - **Orientation with a Caregiver:** Discusses showers, laundry, housekeeping, heating/cooling, fire alarms, evacuation procedures, pendant usage, bathroom alarm, and answers questions. - **Orientation with Activity Director:** Covers hobbies, interests, programming, and meeting other residents.Transportation Services
We assist with scheduling transportation to and from medical appointments through Medride and GoodWheels, as well as scheduling non-medical transportation using Silver Key.Dining Experience
Our Dietary Manager posts a weekly menu, alternative menu, and soup of the day in the dining room. Residents are encouraged to enjoy restaurant-style dining in the dining room for all meals.Process for Resident Complaints
Grievance forms are available within the community for residents to express concerns. Each concern is addressed by the relevant department manager and followed up by the Executive Director to ensure resolution, and escalated if needed.Communication with Resident Families
Our Care Team (Resident Care Coordinator, QMAPs, Caregivers, and Executive Director) notifies the designated emergency contact in emergencies, incidents, and changes of condition. Families are encouraged to attend Resident/Family Council Meetings and visit the community. Vaccination clinics for Covid and flu are scheduled with our pharmacy and held within the community, with the most recent in September 2024.Aging in Place
Our goal is to allow residents to age in place as long as their needs are met. In some cases, residents may need higher levels of care, requiring temporary stays at Skilled Nursing Facilities or moving to Long Term Care or Memory Care.
