Cost Estimate for Our Living Arrangements

I can give you a rough estimate- but it depends on a couple of factors such as the style of apartment you select and your level of care costs (how much assistance you require from our staff for activities of daily living). I would say an average estimate of monthly rates range between $3300-6000/ month. We have shared rooms and private apartments- some more efficiency style, some with kitchenette style set ups.

Levels of Care and Amenities

We have four levels of care and some of our more independent residents may not even start out their stay with us with a level of care and would just pay base rent costs (which include all 3 meals, all activities, weekly housekeeping, weekly laundry and linen services, cable and WIFI internet.

Ensuring Safety and Well-Being of Residents

For building safety, all outside doors, except the main entrance, require key card access. A concierge is present at the front desk from 8 AM to 8 PM, and typically, the front door is locked from 11 PM to 7 AM. Cameras are installed in all common areas and around the outside perimeter to ensure safety.

Support Services for Residents

To aid residents' transition into the community, they are paired up with welcoming staff and residents who help them acclimate to the schedule and activities during the first few weeks.

Transportation Services

Transportation to doctor’s appointments is available every Thursday from 9 AM to 3 PM. Additionally, we offer opportunities for residents to participate in shopping and dining excursions off-campus with our activities department.

Dining Experience

We offer restaurant-style dining with a daily menu featuring multiple options for entrees, sides, and desserts. An alternative menu with always available options like burgers, salads, and BLTs is also provided. A 24-hour drink station is available in the dining room. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in the base rent. Special diet needs such as low-sodium or no concentrated sweets are catered to.

Addressing Complaints and Issues

A resident council meets monthly for residents to voice their concerns or issues and propose solutions. A grievance policy allows residents to bring issues to management by filing a grievance, which will be resolved within 72 hours. Access to a local Ombudsman is also available.

Communication with Residents' Families

While following HIPAA guidelines, we maintain an open-door policy. Emergency contacts are established upon move-in. Health or wellness concerns are communicated to these contacts. Families can also access monthly activity calendars, transportation requests, and direct lines to management through the Life Loop app. Care plan meetings are held to keep families informed of any changes.

Short-term or Respite Stays

Currently, we are not offering respite stays due to capacity limitations. For a 15-day minimum in assisted living, the cost is $225/day, including all amenities available to permanent residents. Month-to-month leases are available with a 30-day minimum lease and a written 30-day notice requirement.

Pet-Friendly Community

We welcome pets with a weight limit for dogs. A $500 one-time pet deposit fee is required, along with updated vaccine records. Pets must be leashed, and residents must provide all care for their pets.

Covid and Flu Vaccinations

Annual flu and covid vaccination clinics are offered within the community. These are scheduled events with our Pharmacy.

Welcome to The Phoenix at Lake Joy

We are licensed as an assisted living community, but we have many residents that are very independent at this time. They decided to skip the independent living and come straight to AL so that when the time comes they need services, they wouldn’t need to make any additional moves- just change their services needed. If you have any questions as you review- feel free to reach out. I would love to talk more with you and share what I love about life within The Phoenix at Lake Joy.

Age in Place Community

Our community is an age in place community- therefore we go up to a higher level of care than most assisted living communities in order for you to stay here until end of life and not have to worry about another future move. We are able to provide care for you from independent care all the way up to but not including a skilled nursing level. Because of this, we also work very closely with home health professionals and hospice care providers so that they can age in place comfortably.

Healthcare Services

We have a nurse practitioner that visits the community weekly. She can act as a primary care physician or on an as-needed basis. We also have a podiatrist that comes quarterly to clip toenails and check for any other feet issues. These two services along with our home health and hospice services are billed through insurance.

Wellness and Activities

Our programming department does an excellent job at providing a variety of activities/events that nurture the six dimensions of wellness. Each and every day our residents are offered a calendar that will provide opportunities for physical, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, and occupational health. Our specialized memory care community atmosphere also ensures that residents on all levels are engaged and stimulated throughout the day. Along with activities, our dining services goes above and beyond to provide delicious and nutritional meal options for all dietary needs.

Military Discount

We do offer a military discount for our veterans and military spouses. This 5% monthly discount is applied to our base room rates. Base room rate includes, all three meals, activities, housekeeping, laundry, transportation to doctors’ appointments, utilities, cable and internet.
