Community Details
This detailed information was received through an email from the Director of Community Relations Executive Director at The Park At Copper Creek Independent Living Community via email on 2024-08-01.
Thank you for inquiring about The Park at Copper Creek.
We hope to be a resource to you in your search for senior living. The Park at Copper Creek offers active Independent Living services with an elevated culinary experience and an elegantly appointed atmosphere. Our residents are extremely active compared to other communities and stay active through a multitude of exercise programs, educational opportunities and social experiences. When you enter our community, you will immediately discover what sets us apart from other “senior living” communities with our enhanced ambiance and energy.
Lisbeth forwarded your email to follow up in regards to your questions about The Park at Copper Creek as they are somewhat detailed in nature. I have attempted to answer them below as best as possible in red:
Could you provide an overview on the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
Our management team is educated and highly experienced to provide the best services possible. Front line staff go through enhanced training and are paid higher wages in an effort to decrease turnover and increase retention. Personally, I have over 25 years of senior living experience and understand the majority of the schematics that go into running a community effectively and efficiently.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
Our community is gated with locked doors protected by fob readers and entrance codes. We have a state-of-the-art security system on the entire exterior of our property. We have 24-hour staffing for emergencies and a daily check in system to ensure our residents are safe. However, our residents are independent so they are free to come and go as they please as we do not monitor their activities.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
We have a list of resources that residents can access for on-site services and can provide moving and move coordination resources to take the work out of moving. We also have an extensive resident ambassador presence to call on new residents, show them around, and introduce them to others. I sit down with every new resident to explain as much as possible during the lease signing process and we also hold a monthly resident orientation meeting to introduce residents to the entire management team and further explain each department in detail.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
We provide scheduled transportation for medical and professional appointments Tuesday through Thursday from 9am to 3pm. We also have a weekly shopping shuttle to take residents to grocery stores of their choice. We go to Trader Joes once a month and provide several bus outings each month to malls, library, eateries, plays, theaters, and other day trips to locations of interest.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
We pride ourselves in providing an elevated culinary experience and have daily menu options available such as filet, salmon, beautiful salads, and other items in addition to our daily special. I have attached a sample of our weekly and monthly menu options. A large continental breakfast is served daily with daily hot item specials, including weekly eggs to order or omelets. Once per month we have a beautiful brunch with carving station and complimentary mimosas. Since our community is truly independent in nature, dinner is only served five days per week, but we have daily bistro options that include hamburgers, soups, pizzas, etc. We have a great reputation for serving the best food around. You are welcome to come try a meal at your convenience and we promise that you will be impressed.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
I run The Park with a very open-door policy, which I have heard is not the case in many communities that require days to weeks to schedule an appointment with the ED. Residents rarely complain, but if an issue arises, we work hard to resolve it or better educate on processes, etc., if needed. We also have an anonymous suggestion box and an informative monthly Town Hall meeting. Generally, our residents are very happy with everything provided. In fact, it has not been unusual for a resident to move here from another competitive community and bring with them several other residents when they find out how well our community is run and how good our food is.
What is the cost of living in your community?
The cost of living here depends on size and location but start at $3,400 per month. Our prices are generally higher because, as they say, “you get what you pay for”.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
Although we have a monthly newsletter, our communication is generally directly with our residents as they are active and keep their families in the know themselves.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
We do not offer short-term stays. This is a service that would be offered in a care environment, not independent living. We do offer guest suites for families or trial stays though and can provide more information if needed.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Yes, we are extremely pet friendly with a dog park and many pet lovers who live here with their furry companions.
Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
We have available units but are beginning wait lists for certain types of floor plans and locations.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
We have an annual Covid/flu vaccination clinic at our community but the majority of our residents get them on their own since they are now so readily available at all physician office and pharmacy locations on a daily basis.
Are residents able to age in place?
We only provide independent living but have private caregiving resources available if someone ages in place. Our residents prefer this set up as they want to live life to the fullest with active, engaging people like themselves until the time comes that they need care. This type of living can often delay a need for higher level of care because people stay active, eat well and fully engage their minds every day.
