Overview of Our Staff and Training
Our team comprises various professionals, including an Executive Director (ED), Activities Director, Dining Staff and Chef, Maintenance Department, Housekeeping Department, Family Advisor, and Receptionist Team. Our staff undergoes comprehensive training, including safety trainings, annual CPR trainings, and a specialized training program called Relias to ensure the highest level of care and service.
Safety and Well-being Measures
To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, we have an overnight security guard and an emergency pull cord system in each apartment. Residents are also provided with an emergency assistance necklace or wristlet, which alerts staff in case of an incident. While residents have the right to refuse emergency services, EMTs are called immediately for visible injuries or inability to get up after a fall, with families being informed promptly.
Transition Support Services
MonteVista offers a welcoming committee to help new residents transition into the community smoothly. We also provide a resident handbook, which is reviewed with new residents to familiarize them with our community and services.
Dining Experience
Our dining room offers restaurant-style dining with a daily changing menu and an always available menu. We provide a grab-and-go breakfast on Sundays and a big brunch menu, with no dinner service but an option for a brown bag meal delivery.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Our staff is always open to hearing concerns or complaints, with direct access to our ED for addressing any issues. We strive to find solutions and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
Communication with Residents' Families
We keep families updated about their loved ones' well-being, especially if we notice any concerning changes. In emergencies, we ensure the family is informed about the situation and the hospital their loved one is at.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Due to 100% occupancy, we currently do not offer short-term stays. This option may be reconsidered based on demand and availability in the future.
Pet-Friendly Community
We are a pet-friendly community, welcoming dogs and cats without any pet fees or deposits, with considerations for large breed dogs to ensure they are manageable for the residents.
Waitlist Information
We currently have a waitlist of about 6-8 months, with a $500 refundable deposit required to join. This deposit is refundable until a move-in commitment is made.
Vaccination Clinics
We hold multiple shot clinics throughout the year for COVID and flu vaccinations, ensuring our residents' health and safety.
Aging in Place
As an independent living community, we allow residents to age in place with their own arranged care. We are also planning to open a Memory Care unit and Assisted Living facilities in late 2024 to provide additional support.
