Memory Care Community
Our Memory Care Community is small and unique with only 24 rooms. The Director organizes and takes part in all of the day-to-day activities and learning. We implement the four components of wellness: physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual. We believe in custom activities for each individual and building a personalized approach to create moments of joy. We never leave anyone alone in their rooms all day and make extra efforts to have everyone involved in activities.

Could you provide an overview on the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
We have a multitude of professionals including 3 nurses - 2 are RNs and one is an LVN. Our Care Givers and Med Techs are CRNs. All of our staff receives training on a monthly basis on a wide range of topics that have to deal with our residents.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
All of our doors remain locked from the outside except our front door and the door off our dining room. They are locked at 7:00 in the evening when our concierge leaves. All visitors must check in at the front desk and wear a badge while they are in our building.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
As a new resident moves in, they are assigned a resident Ambassador who invites them to events, offers to sit with them at mealtimes, and is available to answer any questions about our community. I also personally check on them frequently in their first couple of weeks to make sure they are adjusting well.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
We do have transportation - a small passenger bus with a lift and a vehicle. Jason, our driver, is here Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to take residents to Dr appointments, shopping, restaurants, and wherever needed within a 10-mile radius of our community. This service is included in their monthly rent.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
We offer 3 meals a day. Breakfast is from 7:00-9:00 am, Lunch is at 11:30 am, and Dinner is at 4:30 pm. Our food is excellent. There are always 2 options for lunch and dinner. We also have an ANYTIME MENU - if a resident is hungry they can order off this menu from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
Our office doors are always open for residents to share concerns, they can email any of us and we have monthly Town Hall meetings if they wish to address issues there with our Executive Director.
What is your policy on communication with residents' families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
We call or mail family members with any concerns. We also have a system called Care Merge where we can send out information about upcoming activities or, in the case of an emergency, we can communicate quickly with family members.
Do you offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
Because we are typically always at 100% occupancy, we don't offer respite stays at our community.
Are you a pet-friendly community?
We LOVE animals! There is a $500 pet deposit. We have no dogs at this time but we have about 7 resident cats. 🙂
Do you currently have a waitlist?
We have one Studio Deluxe available in Assisted Living and 2 available apartments in Memory Care. We do have a waitlist for our one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments in AL.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes, typically in the early fall we offer vaccinations to our residents.
Are residents able to age in place?
Absolutely, our residents are able to age in place. We have a Memory Care Neighborhood if needed and we work with a lot of Hospice companies if a resident needs their assistance.
Social Community and Activities
For Assisted Living, we have a very social community with lots of activities. Our outstanding classes and events are always a hit with our residents, including card games, crafting, men's club, veterans’ breakfast, poker, exercise, movie nights, gardeners club, book club, darts, cooking classes, and so much more. We are like a cruise ship of activities, classes, and fun with so much to do but quiet time when you need it.
Dining Experience
Chef-prepared, restaurant-style menu and dining with anytime dining from 7am to 7pm with an extra everyday menu. Residents have a Town Hall meeting with the Culinary Director monthly to discuss what they would like on the menu. Yes… we do have a Thanksgiving-like meal monthly as the residents requested it!
Outdoor and Transportation
Expansive grounds, courtyards, a front and back porch, and a Bluebonnet trail with seating which our walking club adores. Scheduled transportation to local appointments, errands, shopping, and events is also available.
Beauty and Therapy Services
We offer a beauty and barber salon, including manicure and pedicures. Additionally, we have a Pet therapy program and events for our residents and family members.
Dedicated Staff
One thing I would like to mention is the longevity of our staff members. We have care staff that have been in this building for 21 years, 18 years, 16 years, 12 years, and 8 years. They stayed through COVID and have gone above and beyond in the care of our residents. We consistently check button call times every morning, making sure our residents are taken care of as quickly as possible.
