About The Senior Living Community

The community includes a skilled nursing facility known as the rehab at Shenandoah, which does not provide memory care services. For assisted living, personal care, or memory care, there are separate facilities with different contact information.

Admission and Availability

Admissions and discharges occur daily, and while there may be a waitlist, the facility can sometimes accommodate same-day or next-day admissions if notified in advance. A financial application is required prior to admission, and payment for the first month is expected upfront.

All rooms in the skilled nursing facility are private, with private bathrooms, ensuring comfort and privacy for all residents.

Respite Care and Short-Term Stays

The rehab at Shenandoah does not offer respite care or short-term stays. These services may be available in other buildings within the community.

Staffing

The staffing levels vary depending on the census. If operating at full capacity with all 120 beds occupied, each 20-bed wing is staffed with two nurses and three Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The staffing ratio fluctuates based on the current needs and occupancy rates.

Medical Staff

The community employs five nurse practitioners and one physician who serves as the medical director. The medical director does not have an outside practice and is an employee of Shenandoah, providing on-site coverage Monday through Friday and on-call availability seven days a week.

Safety and Security

The community is a private, gated community with a security guard station at the single entrance. Visitors must be buzzed through the gate by security personnel. The rehab building's doors are locked during certain hours, requiring a badge or to be buzzed in for access.

Communication with Families

Communication with families is facilitated through a care portal once a patient is admitted. This portal allows families to view clinical information and communicate with physicians. Additionally, care meetings are held every Wednesday to update families on the resident's progress, with more frequent updates if necessary.
