Overview of Staff and Training

The clinical/care team is supported by an RN (on staff), a resident care coordinator, and a memory care director.

The RN is available 24/7, spending her time on various shifts each week and can always be reached for triage situations as caregivers/resident needs. The resident care coordinator works closely with the nurse to support the care team, scheduling, training and ensuring medications, orders and in a dual role working directly with the physicians, residents and families with whatever needs may arise based on the total care of each resident. The memory care director is essentially the resident care coordinator for our memory support neighborhood.

We try to maintain a designated care team to support memory care residents.

The care team consists of Med Techs and Caregivers. Med techs are required to have a designated training annually based on the role requirements. Caregivers must meet certain education and legal requirements, including a high school diploma/GED and rigorous background check. They are not required to be a certified nursing assistant but this designation is preferred. We provide monthly trainings to reflect all aspects of care from resident safety, proper care techniques and specific practices as it relates to memory support and stimulation.

Safety and Well-being Measures

All management and staff are required to participate in fire drills, emergency exit awareness, chemical trainings, and elopement drills. We have measures in place for natural disasters, communicable diseases, and other potential hazards. All residents receive an emergency pendant that they wear on their person and can alert the care team of any assistance needed. There are certain in-room features to provide safety measures as well.

Transition Support Resources and Services

Yes! When a new resident moves into our community, there is a process in which the management team each play a role in the welcoming and adjustment of each resident. We orient the resident to their new surroundings with a tour of the community noting hot spots like the dining room, activity room, hair salon, etc. We provide and review the schedule of activities, mealtimes, cable TV guide, and housekeeping and laundry schedule. We also work with the family to learn the new resident’s interests and develop an individualized care plan to share with our care team. We also utilize this information to procure a “buddy”, a peer/seasoned resident that can help in the transition by stopping by to get them for meals/activities whilst providing a unique perspective to the residential experience. The care team will provide frequent checks on the resident as well to ensure they are adjusting to their new environment and as well, provide a sense of security as different needs inevitably arise.

Transportation Services

Yes! To and from doctors' appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We also offer our residents a variety of group excursions such as concerts, lunch, shopping, etc.

Dining Experience

The resident will enjoy a restaurant-style dining experience in a designated dining area adjacent to a full kitchen. The resident is presented with a menu to select preferences for each meal. There are two entrees to select from and several side dishes to choose from. They are greeted by a server who will take their drink order and guide them through the menu selection process. We do provide an Alternate menu that consists of a food selection they may prefer, such as grilled cheese sandwiches, soups, salads, and Chef’s choice.

Process for Addressing Complaints/Issues

This request and/or grievance is submitted to the team best suited to address the concern. Any concern should be submitted to any manager or the concierge.

Communication with Residents' Families

As frequently as requested, or as we see fit. Generally, if there is a medication change, odd behavior, significant change, off day, or special enjoyment, we will share. Our families are also welcome to check in via phone, email, text, and especially visits, morning, noon, and night. We are all in this together and we recognize and appreciate your trust in us to provide great care in a vibrant community setting to meet their individualized needs.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

Short-term stays are based on occupancy and are 30-day minimum at a daily rate of $200 in assisted living and $250/daily in memory care. We currently do not offer this option.

Pet-Friendly Policy

Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the type/size pet and resident capability to care for said pet.

Current Availability and Waitlist

Yes, for a one-bedroom in assisted living. Otherwise, I have one studio apartment available in assisted living, a companion option for a male, and in memory care, I only have one bedroom available and currently hold a waitlist for a studio.

Vaccination Availability

Yes, residents are able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community.

Aging in Place

Yes. We have an in-house therapy team/gym. We have hospice support services and can provide a higher level of care as needed. The only reason a resident would be issued a discharge notice would be if they had financial concerns or required a skilled nursing setting, which would only be because of a wound that cannot be healed or a catheter or feeding/drain tube.

I hope this helps. Please contact me if you have further questions or require further clarification on any of these great questions!

Would you be able to provide me with your loved one’s name and timeline? I would love to schedule a time for you to visit the community and meet some of the team and residents alike.
