Community Details
This detailed information was received through an email from the Community Relations Director at The Lassen House Senior Living via email on 2024-08-01.
Overview of Staff and Training
Our staff at the Senior Assisted Living community consists of various professionals, all rigorously trained to ensure the highest quality of care. All caregivers are trained in first aid, and all med techs and directors receive training in both first aid and CPR. Our administrator, Nicole Braswell, is a registered LVN. Each employee completes a required orientation and video training, along with shadowing peers to learn resident care procedures. We also offer continuing education each month to maintain up-to-date training in our field.Measures for Resident Safety and Well-being
At Lassen House, we are guided by goodness, loyalty, faith, and fun. We are staffed 24/7/365 to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, which is our top priority. We are regulated by the state and have a Life Enrichment department that oversees all activities. Daily activities include morning exercises, afternoon bingo, and various other fun events. Recently, we even took some residents out for pizza!Support Services for Transition into the Community
We offer support to our residents as they move in, understanding the difficulty of leaving a home they've been in for over 30 years. We support residents in acclimating to their new environment. For example, we do not require new residents to dine in the dining room on their first day; they can choose to eat in their room to settle in.Transportation Services
We provide transportation services with a shuttle bus and a driver for local appointments. Additionally, we make monthly trips to Chico and Redding for further appointments. Residents should schedule appointments for the bus to respect everyone's time. Families are encouraged to accompany residents to appointments, or we charge a small fee if a staff member is requested to accompany them. Alternative transportation is available if the bus is not.Dining Experience
We offer a restaurant-style dining room for both memory care and assisted living residents. Meals are scheduled three times a day, with snacks available at any time. We accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences, and an alternative menu is available for residents who may not prefer the main dish.Handling Resident Complaints and Issues
Residents are encouraged to voice any complaints or issues. A resident council meets monthly to discuss community matters independently of staff. Residents also have access to an Ombudsman through the California Department of Social Services and Health and Human Services for third-party concerns.Communication with Families
We prioritize staying in touch with families, notifying them of any updates to a resident's health or condition. Regular emails and social media posts keep families informed about community events and happenings.Short-term or Respite Stays
We offer short-term or respite stays with a minimum of two weeks. The cost is $300/day for memory care and $250/day for assisted living.Vaccinations
We occasionally host vaccine clinics in-house, and when unavailable, we refer residents to local pharmacies such as CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, and Raleys.Aging in Place
Residents can age in place, and we accommodate changes in their condition, including moving to memory care if necessary. We continually reassess resident care plans to ensure their needs are met and can accommodate hospice care if needed.Thank you for all your very thorough questions. Please let me know if there is anything else you want me to go over. I am happy to tell you we are currently not waitlisted and have availability on both our Assisted Living side and our Memory Care side.
