Community Details

Community Details

This detailed information was received through an email from the Community Specialist at The Hearth At Sycamore Village via email on 2024-09-04.

Overview of Staff and Training

We have staff ranging from CNA to several nurses. There are a number of trainings we offer, and we continuously have trainings for staff as new concerns or information become available.

Safety and Well-being Measures

The doors to the community are secured 24/7, and the only door that is open is the front door, which is staffed with a receptionist during all open hours. In apartments, we have pull cables available for residents in the case that they would have a fall, and also have pendants available for the same purpose.

Support Services for Transition

My job is to help guide families through the transition process, so I can help set up or connect you all with any resources you may need. I have a referral for pretty much any expertise you can think of, and if there’s something you all have questions about and I don’t have an answer, I know the right experts to reach out to for that.

Transportation Services

Residents have transportation available.

Dining Experience

Our dining is restaurant style, with a menu that is resident-driven and changes frequently. If there’s anything residents would like to see, we love to hear those items so we can make sure that the menu reflects who is in our community.

Handling Resident Complaints

We have a resident council on a monthly basis, they can bring up concerns there, and then they are given to the respective directors, and then are addressed again in the next meeting with either an update or confirming that it has been fixed.

Cost of Living

The cost can vary depending on a number of factors, and I believe it would be in bad faith to give you any number without knowing a little bit about what exactly you all are looking for. I don’t mind chatting with you about the finances, I just don’t believe I know enough to give you an accurate number currently.

Communication with Families

We are in consistent contact with families on the residents. We do an initial evaluation, have a meeting with our Director of Wellness, Emiley, and family after the first 30 days, and every 6 months after that. Outside of that, if there are any concerns before then, we will reach out as needed, and the team is always happy to meet if you all have any concerns or questions before then also.

Short-term or Respite Stays

We do have respite stays, it is $197/day plus care costs that vary depending on the needs of the person. Our residency agreement is a 30-day notice, so the longest you are locked in for is 30 days. The respite stays do have a 30-day minimum but do not have a specific duration requirement after that.

Pet-Friendly Community

We are pet friendly, animals are welcome to come visit, we have visiting therapy dogs a few times a month, and also residents are welcome to have pets if they would like. Animals are all required, visiting or living, to have their records on file with our front desk.

Waitlist Status

We have waitlists for certain apartments or styles, but do have availability depending on what you are looking for. There are standard one-bedroom apartments that we do have available currently.

Covid and Flu Vaccinations

We do not generally host Covid or flu vaccinations, however, we have had clinics that came in before, and can offer transportation to get those things done if a resident would like to get them done outside of those times. It may be something you could speak with the visiting physician about when they are in and they may be able to have an order written for it, I don’t know for certain and don’t want to over-promise what they are able to do.

Aging in Place

Residents are welcome to age in place here. The only time a move would be needed would be if a resident would be safer in memory care, or if they needed life-extending items such as breathing and feeding tubes. 99% of the time, residents can stay with us through end of life, especially with support of hospice. Outside of those circumstances though, the majority of residents can stay in their apartments and just receive additional support there!

Contact for Further Questions

Again, if you have any questions on my responses, or if there is a time you’d like to set up to come in and chat, please feel free to reach out and let me know! Anything I can do to help, I’m happy to take care of!
