Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Certain floorplans and apartment sizes do currently have a waitlist in Assisted Living.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
Our Assisted Living is overseen by an LPN onsite 5 days a week. Our Assisted Living staff is comprised of Medication Technicians and Resident Care Aids per South Carolina staffing standards. All staff undergo initial and annual/bi-annual state mandated training according to the certifications and positions they hold. Our community recently completed our annual state inspection and received a deficiency free report from DHEC, our governing body.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
Our Assisted Living residents have access to an emergency pull cord system located in their rooms, bathrooms and common spaces throughout the community. Our Resident Services Director conducts frequent audits to ensure resident care is being given in accordance with physician orders and within the scope of care allowed by DHEC in South Carolina Assisted Living Facilities. If re-education is required she documents such and completes the re-education.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
As our new residents get ready for their admission to the community, myself along with our Executive Director and Resident Services Director help both the resident and their family during the transition. We can assist with answering questions, recommendations on what to bring, etc. We cannot offer moving assistance of a resident’s personal belongings, although we do have a community partner listing which includes movers and other resources.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
Yes, we have a bus and bus driver.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
We have a dining room where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served restaurant style. We offer 2 entrees along with our “Always Available Menu” at both lunch and dinner service. Additionally, a full salad bar is available during the lunch time meal.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
We have a grievance policy and procedure that the resident is provided upon admission and would follow. They are welcome to remain anonymous, but this can make it difficult to follow up with questions specific to the complaint or circle back to them with a resolution.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
Our Resident Services Director or Executive Director are typically the ones to handle communication to families regarding a resident’s well-being. Both are available 24/7.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
We do offer Respite stays at $225.00 per day.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Yes, we allow cats and small dogs.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes
Are residents able to age in place?
Yes Certain floorplans and apartment sizes do currently have a waitlist in Assisted Living.
