Do you guys currently have a waitlist?

We do not currently have a waitlist, but we have limited availability at this time. If your loved one is not in a hurry to move, I would put them on a waitlist based on your timeline if you find our community would be a good fit and call when we had an opening around that time.

Could you share pricing and any other general information?

The Cottages of Edgewood is a stand alone memory care in the heart of Edgewood. We offer a unique and thoughtfully designed setting for those with Alzheimer's and other memory related problems. We offer 3 small, cozy cottages with 20 residents per cottage. Each cottage is set up like a house to give your loved one familiarity while they receive care in a calm and intimate environment.

Our prices range from $6250.00-$8800.00. The price would depend on whether you would prefer a shared or private suite and the level of care. The level of care is determined based on our nurse's assessment and orders from their doctor.

Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?

We have certified nursing assistance that provide help with dressing, bathing, toileting, and other activities of daily living. We have medication technicians that can provide the care listed above as well as give our residents their medication as the designated time. We have a licensed practical nurse on site 5 days a week and 24 hours a day. We also have a registered nurse who is available 24 hours a day in case she needs to be consulted about resident care or medication. We also have a visiting in-house physician who can adjust medications as needed or see a resident if they have had a change of condition.

Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?

Because we offer a smaller setting we are able to assist residents as needed. This ensures they are safe because we are able to see our residents at any given time. We also have several trained professionals on site 24/7.

Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?

We have many vendors that help residents transition such as in-house visiting dental, an in-house visiting physician, an in-house pharmacy, visiting podiatry, and our trained staff. We also make sure to address any questions or concerns your loved one may have in a timely manner to make sure they are adjusting well.

Do you offer transportation services for residents?

We do not offer transportation.

Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?

We have chef-prepared meals for every experience. Each cottage has its own dining area and the food is brought from our industrial kitchen to each cottage. We also accommodate a range of diets from a diabetic diet to pureed if needed.

What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?

We treat each resident with dignity and respect and will do our best to accommodate their issue. Typically the issue starts with our CNAs and if they are unable to address it, our assistant executive director or executive director will address it directly.

What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?

Typically our director of nursing or assistant executive director will call the power of attorney if there has been a change in condition, but are always happy to speak to you if you call with any questions.

Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?

Due to our limited availability we are not currently accepting respites, however if this changes the cost is $270/day.

Are you all a pet-friendly community?

We do not accept pets in memory care.

Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?

We have a flu clinic for our residents every year and a COVID clinic when new vaccines are available.

Are residents able to age in place?

Yes, in most cases we are able to care for residents until end of life.
