Overview of Professional Staff and Training
Our executive director and assisted living director are both Certified Executive for Assisted Living (CEAL), having undergone extensive training and testing. Our nursing staff includes RNs and LPNs. Personal Care Assistants, responsible for the care of assisted living and memory care residents, receive routine training on transfers and ADL care. All staff members are trained in a wide range of areas including Dementia and behavior management, Disaster Preparedness, Fire Prevention, Infection Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, Abuse Prevention Training, Residents Rights Training, Procedure to Protect Health & Personal Information, Compliance & Ethics, OSHA Training, Effective Communication, Sexual Harassment, and Electronic Monitoring Policy.
Safety and Well-being Measures
All staff are trained in Ethics, Resident Rights, and Abuse prevention. Exterior doors are locked 24/7, with the main entrance open during office hours. Residents have key fob access after hours. Emergency call buttons and medical pendants with fall detection and GPS are available, ensuring prompt assistance when needed.
Support Services for New Residents
A chaplain is available for emotional support, and a 101 class helps new residents transition into the community. While we do not offer moving services, we provide essential support for new residents.
Transportation Services
We offer a shuttle service within Delaware city and a weekly grocery bus trip, included in the monthly fees. A companion service for one-on-one transportation is available for an additional fee.
Resident Complaint Resolution Process
Complaints are addressed through a structured process, escalating from the department director to the CEO if necessary. An Ombudsman is also available as an advocate for residents.
Communication with Residents' Families
Upon moving in, residents authorize who can receive their medical and personal information. We typically communicate with a designated point of contact, ensuring privacy and informed care.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Respite stays are available in assisted living and memory care, with rates varying by room size, ranging from $237-$302 per day in assisted living and $282-$289 per day in memory care.
Pet-Friendly Community
Independent living residents may have up to two pets. While pets cannot reside in other levels of care, they are welcome to visit.
Covid and Flu Vaccinations
Residents have access to Covid and flu vaccinations within the community.
Aging in Place
Our community supports aging in place, offering a full continuum of care to accommodate residents' changing needs.
