Overview of Staff and Training

Benchmark prioritizes comprehensive training for all staff members, ensuring each employee is well-prepared for their position. Every staff member undergoes an initial training program covering various aspects of their roles and is equipped with profound knowledge of working in Assisted Living (AL) and caring for seniors. Importantly, everyone, including those not directly working with seniors, receives Dementia Care training. Our training program is continuous, incorporating monthly in-service topics and sessions through Benchmark University to promote ongoing education.

Safety Measures for Residents

Our facility employs several safety measures to ensure resident well-being. Each apartment includes pull systems in bathrooms, complemented by a 24/7 pendant aid system worn by residents. We maintain excellent response times by reviewing reports daily to address calls promptly. The "I'm OK program" ensures frequent check-ins with residents throughout the day. In our Memory Care neighborhood, overnight checks occur every hour. Communication between our frontline team, Nurses, Resident Care Director, and Traditional Care Director ensures issues are handled immediately.

Support for Transitioning Residents

Our "Compassionate Companions" program assigns a dedicated staff member to each new resident to offer support and aid their transition into the community. This familiar face is present throughout the resident's first 30 days.

Transportation Services

We provide transportation for weekly outings, doctors' appointments, and church services, included in the residents' package. Additionally, the WRTA offers free sign-up and use for further transportation needs, picking up residents at the front door. We can also advise on hiring private transportation services.

Dining Experience

Residents enjoy restaurant-style dining with servers and an All-Day Menu available from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, offering three meals daily with special options. Lunch and dinner include a starter followed by the main course and dessert. Sick trays are delivered at no cost, and there is a small fee for optional apartment delivery.

Complaint and Issue Resolution

Residents can address complaints or issues through our Receptionist or at monthly Resident Council meetings with the Executive Director and Dept. Heads. Suggestion boxes are also available. Dept. Heads follow up directly on specific issues requiring attention.

Cost of Living

Pricing starts at $240/day, with an assessment required to determine final costs.

Family Communication

Families can stay updated through an app, contact department heads, and receive regular email updates. Scheduled meetings occur every 6 months or more frequently if needed. Immediate communication is provided to designated contacts if situations arise.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

We offer 30-60 day respite stays with pricing starting at $240/day plus $25/day for furniture rental, subject to assessment for final pricing.

Pet-Friendly Policy

Pets are welcome, subject to size restrictions (25 pounds or less) and resident capability in pet care. We do not offer pet care services, but common pets include dogs, cats, fish, and birds.

Waitlist Information

Typical wait times for a spot at Tatnuck Park are approximately 1-3 months.

Vaccination Services

Residents can receive Covid and flu vaccinations through annual on-site Vaccination Clinics.

Aging in Place

Our enhanced licensing allows residents to age in place with comprehensive care offerings, including two-person assists, gate belts, slide board transfers, and Hoyer lifts. Our mission is to support residents throughout their stay, even into hospice care, within their familiar surroundings.
