Overview of Staff and Training
At our facility, we have a diverse team of professionals including an Administrator (LNHA), Director of Nursing (LPN), Dietary Manager, Lifestyle Coordinator, Maintenance Director, and Housekeeper on staff full-time. Our direct resident care staff includes those certified as L1MA or CMT to pass medications, as well as Certified Nursing Assistants and PCA (Personal Care Assistants). All new staff members undergo 2 days of orientation covering state-required topics such as fire safety and resident abuse and neglect, followed by 3 days of floor training where they shadow an experienced staff member. We observe and assess their skills before they work independently.Safety and Well-Being Measures
We have several measures in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, including 2-hour check rounds, ensuring all residents attend meals, and a call light system in bathrooms and resident rooms. We maintain a minimum of 2 staff members on duty at all times to respond to resident needs. Facility doors are locked nightly, and all emergency exit doors are alarmed. We have a full fire alarm and sprinkler system monitored 24/7. Regular fire, tornado, and missing resident drills are conducted, and security cameras are installed in common areas and at exterior entry points.Resident Transition Support
To aid residents' transitions into our community, we ensure they feel welcomed. A welcome group makes a door sign and gift basket, and staff introduce themselves and help new residents adjust to meal times, exercise routines, and activity offerings.Transportation Services
While we do not offer individual transportation services, we have a facility van available for group outings.Dining Experience
Our community enjoys high resident dining satisfaction at SummitView. Servers take drink orders, deliver them to tables, and then offer the choice between the special or alternative options like soups and sandwiches from our everyday menu. Residents and the Dietary Manager meet monthly to discuss menu plans and choose two special “wow” meals for the month.Resident Complaints and Issues
There is an active Resident Council, but most residents prefer to meet directly with the Administrator and/or DON to address issues. We have an open-door policy to promptly address concerns or problems.Communication with Families
We request that families designate a primary contact for communication. Any change in condition, medication change, fall, or other unusual events are communicated to the designated contact, who is responsible for relaying the information to other family members. We hold care plan meetings every 6 months to discuss residents' care needs.Short-Term or Respite Stays
We offer respite stays with a minimum duration of 14 days at a cost of $202 per day.Pet-Friendly Policy
Our community is pet-friendly with a one-time pet fee of $1,000. Residents must be able to care for their pets, including taking dogs outside for restroom breaks and cleaning up after them, or maintaining the litter box for cats.Waitlist Status
Currently, there is no waitlist.Vaccinations
We offer Covid and flu vaccination clinics in the fall.Aging in Place
Residents can age in place with the help of hospice services in addition to our care. However, some skilled care requirements may be beyond our capabilities. For pricing & availability call (866) 204-9238
