Overview of Our Staff and Training

We have a diverse team at our facility, including receptionists, transportation personnel, housekeeping staff, maintenance crew, dining staff, nurses, and therapists. Upon hire and annually, all team members must complete education requirements covering customer service, HIPAA, Hazards & Emergency Preparedness, Fire Safety, and Dementia Care.

Measures for Safety and Well-Being of Residents

For security, all building doors are locked. Residents, team members, and family members use FOB and badge access for entry. Guests must enter through the front door and be let in. Independent living residents receive a pendant for medical emergencies upon moving in.

Resources and Support Services for Transition

We provide a list of movers and downsizing companies to assist new residents in moving into the community.

Transportation Services

We offer transportation to local medical appointments at no cost. For medical appointments outside the local area, there is an additional charge. Scheduled shopping trips are available on Tuesday afternoons (alternating between Kroger and Martins) and Thursday afternoons (Walmart).

Dining Experience

Our dining team includes an executive chef, dietician, hospitality manager, cooks, and servers. We have three dining venues offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Jacob’s Tavern and The Brunswick provide restaurant-style service. Apartment residents have a dining plan that includes $350 per month for meals and food, included in their monthly fee.

Complaint and Issue Resolution Process

All directors have open door policies. Residents can talk to the director or supervisor of relevant areas for any issues. If unresolved, they can speak to the Executive Director.

Communication with Residents' Families

In independent living, we communicate with families mainly if there are changes in residents' conditions. Higher levels of living (assisted, memory support, skilled nursing) involve more frequent communication and periodic meetings with families to discuss care. Changes in residents' conditions or care are reported immediately. Our nursing team, including the Director of Health Services and Unit Managers, regularly communicate with families.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

We do not offer short-term or respite stays.

Pet Policy

Yes, we are a pet-friendly community with a $16 monthly pet fee.

Vaccinations

Residents can receive Covid and flu vaccinations within the community.

Aging in Place

As a life plan community, we offer all levels of living (independent, assisted, memory support, skilled nursing), allowing residents to age in place as their needs change. We have a waitlist of approximately 3-5 years. Currently, one Birch (2 bedroom/1 bath) apartment is available.
