Types of Professionals and Training

Our staff comprises various professionals who undergo online training provided by Hawthorn Senior Living. This training ensures all staff members are well-prepared to meet the needs of our residents.

Safety and Well-being Measures for Residents

Our community is secure, with doors locked by 7:30 pm, accessible only with a key fob/key. Live-in managers, who are a husband and wife team, are present on-site, and we have supervisors available both day and night to assist residents as needed. Residents are provided with Lively devices, which function as waterproof two-way radios and tracking devices. There is an optional $4.99 monthly service that allows tracking both inside and outside the community.

Support for Resident Transition

We have an ambassador program with 18 resident ambassadors who assist new residents in transitioning into the community.

Addressing Resident Complaints or Issues

We maintain an open-door policy. Residents can bring forward complaints to the live-in managers, any supervisor, or myself for resolution.

Communication with Residents' Families

We are highly involved with residents' families, keeping them informed about their loved ones. We exchange personal contact numbers, provide staff email addresses, and maintain open communication lines.

Short-term or Respite Stays

We offer respite stays with a minimum of 30 days. For visiting family, we offer a fully furnished apartment with all amenities at $90 per night.

Current Waitlist Status

There is a waitlist for studio and one-bedroom apartments. We require a $500 deposit to join the waitlist, which is refundable at any time or applicable towards rent.

Vaccinations for Residents

While we are an Independent Living facility without 24-hour medical staff, residents can bring in home health services, skilled nursing, and hospice care, which enables them to receive Covid and flu vaccinations within the community.

Aging in Place Policy

We encourage residents to age in place, allowing them to bring in necessary care to remain in their homes, unless they become a danger to themselves or others.

About Summit Glen

Our Summit Glen location has been here for 14 years, and we boast some of the most gorgeous views of Pikes Peak. Built into a hill, our community offers a unique experience with wildlife often making an appearance. We have live-in managers who are a husband and wife team, providing peace of mind for our residents.

Aging in Place

Our community allows residents to age in place, bringing in any home health or skilled nursing services, all the way through to hospice care. This makes transitioning easier, knowing they don't have to move again.

Amenities and Services

Served daily are three chef-prepared meals. We offer scheduled transportation, exercise classes, events, entertainment, and all utilities included except for a personal phone. Housekeeping services are provided once a week, with bed linens and towels included. Maintenance is performed as needed. We also allow pets with zero pet fees.

Occupancy and Availability

We have been 100% occupied for the past 8 years, with a two-bedroom apartment becoming available on 10/1. We recommend putting a $500 deposit down, as our apartments go fairly quickly.
