Overview of Staff and Training
We employ state certified nursing assistants, Registered Nurses, or Licensed Practical Nurses for direct patient care. Our team also includes housekeeping, dietary, maintenance, laundry, and administrative staff. Staff receive monthly education on various subjects, some mandated by the Board of Nursing and some required by our facility.
Safety and Well-Being Measures
Access to our facility is restricted to staff and family members with computerized badges. A monitor is stationed at the main office from 8:00am to 4:30pm daily to oversee visitors. After 9pm, family members' badges are deactivated, requiring them to request entry. Cameras are in all social areas and entry points, and the police routinely patrol the parking lot at night. Each resident's safety is assessed individually, with specific measures in place monitored and signed off by staff each shift.
Resources and Support Services for Residents
We have a chaplain for spiritual support, a social worker for transition and adjustment aid, and an activity staff to engage residents and foster community interaction.
Transportation Services
We provide a Certified Nursing Assistant for transportation to doctor appointments within a 25-mile radius on weekdays. For other locations, transportation can be arranged through medical transport groups, with costs charged to the resident.
Dining Experience
Residents are encouraged to dine in the dining room, where they are seated with peers to socialize. Meals are served by dietary and nursing staff from a hot bar, adhering to dietary recommendations and personal preferences.
Complaint and Issue Resolution Process
Residents can notify any staff member of concerns. If the issue is beyond the staff member's capacity, it will be escalated to the nurse, who will assist or help complete a grievance form for the social worker to address promptly.
Communication with Residents' Families
Resident representatives are notified of significant changes, falls, skin tears, or incidents daily. The nurse contacts the family after the first night and communicates through scheduled or requested care plans.
Short-Term or Respite Stays
We currently do not offer respite stays, though they may be considered on an individual basis, with costs based on the level of care required.
Pet-Friendly Policy
Our community welcomes pets, with several visiting daily. Family members can bring pets with proper vaccination records and a friendly demeanor.
COVID and Flu Vaccinations
We offer annual flu vaccines and the latest COVID vaccines to residents. Pneumonia vaccines are also provided as needed.
Aging in Place
As a Continuing Care Retirement Center (CCRC), residents can transition from Independent Living to Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, or our Dementia Unit as needed. Our rehab services facilitate recovery and return to previous living quarters. Currently, we have a waiting list for skilled nursing.
