Southern Plaza Independent Living

Our Team

In our Independent Living Community, we have a full time Executive Director, full time Business Director, full time Food Service Director and dining staff, Full time Maintenance Director and staff. We are staffed 24 hours a day in case of emergencies, with emergency pull cords in the bedrooms and bathrooms of every apartment.

Moving Services

We do not have a moving service provided for residents when moving in. Future residents can pick the moving teams that they would prefer.

Transportation and Activities

We have scheduled transportation and scheduled activities. Mondays we run errands, Tuesdays and Thursdays we do doctor runs. We also do various in-community and out-of-community activities.

Meals

We have continental breakfast 6 days a week and Big Country Breakfast on Wednesdays. Our lunch and dinner is restaurant-style service.

Complaints

In the event there is a complaint, residents are encouraged to speak with our Director John about their concerns.

Pricing

In the emailed brochure there is a sheet that includes our prices. Our studio is $2400.00, our 1 bedroom for a single occupant is $2700.00, our 2 bedrooms for a single occupancy starts at $3200.00. The second occupancy fee is $600.00. We have a wait list on all sizes of apartments in Independent Living. The wait time depends on the size of the apartment.

Emergency Preparedness

We keep a file that contains an emergency sheet and any information that would be helpful for emergency personnel if the need arises. If we notice that a resident is having difficulties, we will contact the family to make sure they are aware of the situation.

Respite Care

In Independent Living, we do not have respite care. Residents can have a home health care agency of their choosing if needed.

Pets

We do not accept pets in Independent Living.

Vaccinations

Once a year we do offer a flu and Covid vaccine to residents that choose to have them.

Aging in Place

We do allow residents to age in place unless it becomes a detriment to their well-being. We also have Assisted Living and Memory Care if needed.

Living Spaces and Community Areas

In addition to your private apartment space, we have five sitting rooms throughout the community as well as a spacious lobby. Southern Plaza offers the perfect balance between socialization and privacy!

Included Services

Included in your apartment rent are 20 meals per week, utilities, including cable TV and telephone, weekly housekeeping and laundry of flat linen, scheduled transportation, and activities.

Dining Experience

The dining room is open and spacious, yet it provides a small dining atmosphere with tables that seat four to six people. We also have a private dining room where family and friends can enjoy a quieter setting for special occasions. Friends and family are always welcome.

Availability

At this time, we have a wait list on all our Independent Living apartments. The wait time depends on the size of the apartment.
