Somerby Santa Rosa Beach is a licensed Assisted Living and Memory Care facility. Below is an overview of the types of professionals on our staff and the training they undergo:

Executive Director

The Executive Director oversees every aspect of the community including operations, human resources, culinary, safety, resident and employee satisfaction, budget and occupancy, administration, and sales.

Wellness Director

The Wellness Director, an RN, oversees clinical and licensing requirements as dictated and monitored by the state.

Facilities Director

The Facilities Director manages the life and health safety of the residents and the physical building. This includes contracting work that needs to be done to maintain the building and overseeing housekeeping.

Culinary Director

The Culinary Director oversees the food and beverage operations of the community, including both front and back-of-house employees.

Lifestyle Director

Responsible for all activities and resident transportation.

Memory Care Director

Oversees social activities and workflow for memory care residents and staff.

Business Office Director

Manages human resources, concierge services, accounts payable/receivable, and other tasks.

Marketing Director

The Marketing Director guides tours, works with prospects to generate sales and resident retention, manages community events, and attends networking opportunities.

Support Staff

Includes LPNs, Med Techs, CNAs, and Care Associates responsible for resident care.

Resident Safety and Well-being Measures

We have a pendant and call system for residents to alert staff when they need assistance. Monthly fire drills, elopement drills, and safety meetings are conducted to cover topics such as hurricane protocol, evacuation, hazardous material disposal, and proper lifting techniques.

Support Services for Resident Transition

Our resident Welcoming Committee assists new residents by introducing them to dining, activities, and answering various questions. The Marketing Director also works with moving agencies to help with physical transitions.

Transportation Services

We offer transportation for residents to and from medical appointments and for outings to places such as restaurants, bowling alleys, theatres, and shopping centers.

Dining Experience

Our Culinary Director collaborates with a nutritionist to create a diverse menu that meets nutritional requirements, including special diets. Our communal dining room has open seating with meal periods in hour and a half increments, allowing residents to come and go as they please. Family and friends are encouraged to join residents for a low cost.

Resident Complaint Process

Residents should bring complaints directly to the relevant personnel. If additional attention is required, the Executive Director will get involved to develop and implement a plan of action. Issues beyond the Executive Director’s level will be referred to Home Office.

Cost of Living

Living at Somerby Santa Rosa Beach ranges from $5000 to $9000 per month, depending on the apartment size, layout, and level of care needed. A formal assessment is conducted prior to move-in and periodically as needed.

Family Communication Policy

We communicate directly with Power of Attorney for updates and information about residents. Family members are welcome to visit anytime. We use a mass messaging system for updates and messages. In case of incidents or emergencies, directors will call or message family members directly. Assessment results are also shared with the POA and resident.

Short-term or Respite Stays

We offer respite stays ranging from 2 to 8 weeks for those recovering from injury or medical procedures and for full-time caregivers needing a break. We have 2 furnished apartments for these stays, costing between $4000 and $8000 per month, depending on the length of stay and level of care required.

Pet Policy

Our assisted living community is pet-friendly, but our memory care unit is not.

Current Apartment Availability

Currently, we have open apartments and no waitlist.

Vaccination Availability

Vaccinations, including Covid and flu vaccines, have been provided on-site in the past. Future availability will depend on demand.

Aging in Place

We prioritize residents' safety and health and work with local providers, including doctors, podiatrists, dermatologists, and hospice care providers, to ensure access to necessary care.
