Overview of Staff and Training

Our caregiver staff receive basic first aid training, including transferring, toileting, and showering, also known as ADLs (activities of daily living). Med techs are trained to pass medications and make decisions about when to call 911. An LVN nurse is present for 2 out of 3 shifts per day, although we may not always have an LVN on the overnight shift due to the nursing shortage. Our policy includes calling 911 if a resident has hit their head, and staff are trained to know when to activate emergency services. Assisted living is provided for stable residents, and we respond to situations such as fevers by contacting doctors and notifying families.

Safety and Well-Being Measures

We ensure the safety of our residents with daily check-ins, where residents are expected to push a button in their master bath between 6am-10am. Failure to check in prompts a call and potentially a personal check. Residents are also equipped with emergency devices, available as pendants or wristwatches, to alert staff to their location on campus in case of an emergency.

Transition Support Services

New residents are welcomed by resident ambassadors who introduce them to the community, accompany them to activities, and dine with them. Our Director of Activities also engages with new residents to encourage participation in community events and clubs.

Transportation Services

We offer transportation services with a full-time driver and a part-time driver, providing access to medical appointments, grocery and banking runs, and other outings. Transportation includes a town car, a mini-van with a lift, and an 18-passenger bus. Trips to the airport incur an extra charge.

Dining Experience

Our dining options include three meals a day at two restaurants, El Castillo and Dave’s Bar, with a variety of menu choices and daily specials. There is no point system, allowing residents to enjoy a wide range of dishes throughout the month. Private dining for family and friends is also available.

Addressing Resident Complaints

Residents can address complaints to department heads or directly to our Executive Director. A Resident Council is also in place for discussing issues and making suggestions.

Cost of Living

Attached are the monthly rental costs, community fees, and care price sheets for review.

Communication with Families

Families receive email updates from our Executive Director and are contacted by the wellness center if there are concerns about a resident's well-being.

Short-Term or Respite Stays

Currently, we are unable to offer respite stays due to being fully occupied.

Pet-Friendly Community

We welcome cats and well-behaved dogs with a monthly pet fee. Dogs are restricted from dining areas and must be escorted through common areas. We currently have a waitlist for our living accommodations, with varying wait times depending on the type of apartment or cottage.
