Staff Training and Accreditation

Our staff goes through a specific training upon hire and every month thereafter. You will see that we received an accreditation through Alzheimer's Disease International for the level of dementia specific training we offer our staff. We do not have any agency staff in our community. We have several different departments at Silverado (Plant Operations, Clinical, Health Services, Engagements, Administrative) which allow the nurses and caregivers to focus on those specific needs.

Safety Measures

In regards to the safety measures we have in place, we have staff in the community 24/7, all doors are secured and operate on a delayed egress system, our residents have call buttons in their rooms that they can use if they need assistance, they may also have a personal call pendant on their person, we have a walkie talkie system that is tied into our safety system.

Support During Transition

Yes, we do offer support to residents and their family member during the transition process. This is something that we discuss with every new resident who moves into our community as we want to ensure we are supporting them as best we can throughout this process. Sometimes family members also feel that they could benefit from our suggestions as well. This is a team approach; however, our full-time social worker is very connected with new residents and their families during this process.

Transportation Services

Yes, we do offer transportation to and from appointments.

Meals and Nutrition

All of our meals are prepared fresh from scratch each and every day. We follow the MIND diet and snacks and drinks are always available in our bistros.

Handling Complaints

If a resident or family member has a complaint we take it very seriously. We have a robust leadership team to help support you, and we will connect you with the correct leadership team member based on the concern. Our goal is to give you the best customer experience possible, and we appreciate having the opportunity to make adjustments and correct what was displeasing you.

Communication with Power of Attorney

We communicate updates with the power of attorney. These are regular updates about anything that happens with your loved one. Oftentimes, if it is related to something medical or clinical, the nurse on shift will call you to make you aware. If it is related to another issue, then a member from the leadership team will reach out.

Respite Care

Yes, we do offer respite. Our request is that you stay between 14 - 28 days. The cost of respite care starts at $390 per day and the cost is based on the individual's needs.

Pet-Friendly Community

Yes, we are a pet-friendly community. Having pets is a significant part of our normalization program at Silverado! You will find community animals (dog, cats, fish, birds). Residents are able to move in with their pet and our Engagement department will help care for it.

Vaccinations

In terms of vaccinations, there are times when we have a clinic (Covid or the flu) taking place and people are able to receive their vaccinations this way. However, if someone needs to receive a vaccination outside of those clinics, you'd have to go the doctor to get it.

Age in Place Community

Our goal is to be an age in place community. We help support people living with Mild Cognitive Impairment through advanced dementia.

Pricing Structure

I am going to provide a breakdown of the pricing structure at Silverado; however, discussing pricing is best suited for a phone call as it can vary significantly. Our pricing is all-inclusive, and it includes a fully furnished room, toiletries, linens, meals, daily laundry and housekeeping, 24/7 nursing. Our rates of care range between $350 per day to $410 per day. The actual rate is determined after we do an assessment and what type of room an individual lives ins. We do not have a waitlist.
