Personal Care: A private studio room in personal care is $4,200 a month.

Respite Care: 30-day minimum, 60-day max. The rate starts at $180 a day, depending on their care level.

Pet Fee: There is a $500 pet fee up front for one pet in personal care, 25 pounds or under.

Community Overview

The Senior Commons at Powder Mill is a senior living community that offers three levels of care: independent living, personal care, and memory care. The community provides a comfortable and supportive environment for seniors, with a range of amenities and services designed to meet their needs.

Availability

There is currently a waitlist for both independent living and memory care options. However, there are no waitlists for personal care services at this time.

Accommodations

The community offers various room types, with the standard studio room being the most common option in personal care. Each living space is designed with the comfort and safety of residents in mind.

Pet Policy

Pets are welcome in the personal care section of the community, with a limit of one pet per resident. The pet must be 25 pounds or under, and a one-time pet fee is required.

Residents can enjoy complimentary transportation services for local doctor's appointments and shopping trips. The community organizes weekly outings to grocery stores and other local destinations.

Dining Experience

Residents are offered three meals a day with at least two choices per meal. The dining service is restaurant-style, allowing residents to select their meals without needing to pre-order. Alternative options like soup, salad, and sandwiches are always available.

Staff and Training

The community employs one nurse on duty during the day and one on call 24/7. Caregivers and CNAs make up the primary staff, undergoing a comprehensive two-week training period followed by hands-on floor training to ensure high-quality care.

Medical Support

While there are no doctors on staff, a primary care physician visits the community for residents who choose to use her services.

Safety Measures

For resident safety, the community provides call button lanyards and has pull cords in bathrooms. However, there is no security guard on duty.

Handling Complaints

Residents can file complaints at the front desk or speak directly with staff. The front desk associates will then follow the appropriate channels to address the issue.

Family Communication

The facility maintains regular communication with residents' families through calls and emails, especially regarding changes in status, health concerns, or care plan meetings.
