Open Door Policy

We are a small community consisting of eight directors and we all have an open door policy. If residents have issues they can be addressed a variety of different ways: complete an anonymous survey, attend the Resident Council Meetings held monthly, contact any of the directors directly, or notify Front Desk and they will pass the message to the appropriate person. If we are unable to address, you can certainly contact the local Ombudsman or the Department of Health Services.

About San Carlos Elms

San Carlos Elms is a nonprofit, locally owned and operated independent, assisted living, and memory care community, established in 1996. Our reputation consists of having long-standing staff, convenient location to a lot of great amenities that are walking distance for active seniors, such as restaurants, shopping, CVS, public library, adult community center, dog park and several other parks, coffee shops, and many more.

Our Philosophy

At the Elms, our philosophy is for residents to be as independent as possible, with us here as support. With that said, they only pay for services that they need. We are a nonmedical community, so we're not required to have doctors or nurses on site; however, our care team is supervised by a licensed nurse, who's been here since the building opened in 1996, so you can feel confident in receiving consistent and customized care.
