Front Line Staff
Our front line staff is comprised of licensed nurses (LPNs and RNs), CNAs and QMAs, cooks and dietary aides, housekeepers and laundry staff as well as some administrative professionals. We also have a full management team which consists of a licensed administrator, a Director of Nursing as well as 3 other nursing managers who serve in various roles. We have a Social Services Director, Business Office Manager, Activities Director, Maintenance/housekeeping director and a dietary director. Each position has computer training selected by our home office according to position. Additionally, department managers have the ability to hold in person training sessions at their discretion.
Employment and Training
We have a strong team with good corporate support. Everybody who we employ goes through a background check, drug screen, reference check, etc. We meet weekly to review each resident and their specific needs or anything they may need addressed. We also provide training to new hires and do not ask them to work on their own until they feel they are ready to do their job effectively. We have a grievance system which helps us respond to any concerns a resident or family member may have.
Discharge Planning
Our Social Services Director spearheads the discharge planning process and helps set up residents with services, equipment or appointments they might need after they go home. He begins discharge planning early on in the stay to avoid a scramble later on.
Transportation
We do have transportation available for resident appointments. Our vehicle also transports for outings organized by the activities department.
Meal Services
We offer meals either in our dining room, or on trays sent to the resident rooms, depending on resident preferences. We offer a main special which changes with each meal, as well as a variety of alternates.
Complaints and Grievances
I think I touched on your question about complaints. Feel free to let me know if you need more information about that.
Cost and Payment Methods
The cost determines what method you use to pay. If you pay completely out of pocket, the cost is 335.80/night for room and board. Any additional therapy services would come at an extra cost. If you are here with Medicaid, it would cover room and board with no therapy services and you would owe a patient liability. The total amount owed for patient liability is determined by the individual’s social security income, so there is no set number I can give you. Finally, if you have Medicare or a Medicare Replacement Plan, it would cover room and board as well as therapy services. The number of therapy visits per week as well as length of visit is determined by the individual’s insurance plan. Depending on the number of days you stay using a Medicare plan, there may be a Copay with it.
Family Communication
The amount of communication with family depends on the cognitive ability of the resident. If they are not able to make their own decisions, family will receive more communication than if they can make their own decisions. We communicate significant changes in condition, as well as any events such as a fall or skin issue, just to name a few. We also always welcome you to reach out with questions as well, or if there is a specific reason you would want contacted that we wouldn’t usually contact you for, you can let us know of that as well.
Respite Stays
We do offer respite stays. These are most commonly covered by Medicare if a patient is enrolled in Hospice, but they could also be paid privately at the 335.80/night rate. We would need a History and Physical from the patient’s doctor and also would have a list of information we would need from the patient or family.
Pet Visits
We do allow visits from pets as long as you can provide up to date shot records to our receptionist.
Vaccinations
We do offer flu and Covid Vaccinations.
Aging in Place
I am unclear on what you are asking with your final question. The term “age in place” typically refers to the ability to remain at one’s home in one’s community with family and friends. Someone who is a resident in any long-term care facility would not be considered to be aging in place. We do, however, offer short term inpatient therapy stays as well as respite stays. In either scenario, the resident comes to us with the intention of returning home at some point. Our availability depends on what kind of stay you are looking for. If you are looking for a short-term rehab stay, or to stay long term paying privately, we do have availability. If you are looking to stay long term through Medicaid, we have one bed available for a female. While we don’t have any Medicaid availability for a male, we do not have anybody currently on our wait list, so if this is the route you need, you would be first in line.
