This information was received through a phone call with the community on 2023-11-10.
Accommodation Options
The senior living community offers both studio and one-bedroom apartments, as well as two-room apartments for its residents. Each apartment is designed to provide comfort and convenience to the seniors, ensuring a homely environment.
Costs and Additional Expenses
While meals are included in the cost of living, residents are responsible for their personal supplies, including incontinent care supplies, which have a separate rate structure.
Respite Care and Short-Term Stay
The community provides options for respite care or short-term stays, although availability may vary. The long-term care rooms are available for respite patients from time to time, with different rates for shared and private rooms.
Waitlist Information
There is a waitlist for private rooms and assisted living. The waitlist for private rooms operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to current in-house residents when a room becomes available.
Pet Policy
Pets are not allowed to reside in the community; however, they are welcome to visit provided they have up-to-date vaccination papers, are accompanied at all times, and remain on a leash.
Moving Assistance
While the community does not have its own staff or movers to assist residents with moving in, they can provide referrals to several agencies that specialize in helping seniors relocate.
Transportation Services
No on-site transportation is available for residents. However, the community can assist families and residents in arranging transportation services for appointments and outings, which are to be paid for by the residents or their families.
Dining Experience
The assisted living section has its own exclusive dining room, separate from the larger cafeteria-style dining room shared with long-term care and rehab residents. Residents can select their meals from a six-week rotating menu, and the community prides itself on its excellent food quality.
Staffing and Nursing Care
There is one nurse available on the assisted living floor during the day and most often at night. Technicians are also assigned to each hall to provide supervision and assistance with daily activities such as meal setup and bathing.
Safety and Security
Each room is equipped with a call button for emergencies. The assisted living floor is secured, and the building has a 24/7 front desk where visitors must check in. After hours, the front lobby is locked, but visitors can still gain access by buzzing in.
Handling Complaints
The community has a service recovery process to address complaints and concerns. Complaints are logged and addressed by the relevant department, with follow-up to ensure resolution.
Family Communication
Nursing staff and social workers keep families informed of any changes in the resident's care. Care plan meetings are scheduled with patients and their families to communicate updates, which are done via phone or in person, and through email as needed.
