Independence and Safety

We are completely independent living, so we have no health professionals on site (other than private caretakers that some residents hire who do need extra care). We have the luxury of being a small, close-knit community, so if a resident doesn't show up for dinner/lunch we are usually informed quickly, and we do safety checks just in case. The building is completely locked down at 9pm, and I am the last to leave at 10pm.

Emergency Precautions

We also recommend the necklaces to press in case there is a medical emergency so 911 can respond promptly. The firefighters are only 2 houses down from us, so they are here within a minute. We used to have pullcords in the rooms, but we had events where residents couldn't get to them, so we highly recommend the necklaces.

Community and Support

Since we are fully independent, we don't provide support services other than having a caring staff that is here for any questions, concerns, or needs they might have. Usually, we recommend attending social events and the dining room as our community is very welcoming, and residents usually settle into a group quickly.

Dining Experience

Our dining experience is similar to a restaurant setting. We have a big dining room with waiters who serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with rotating menus and many different options (including special needs such as vegetarian). In my opinion, it's the best place to socialize and meet new people. Occasionally, there is live music and entertainment as well, usually at dinner. Holidays are marked by beautiful decorations that transform the dining room into something very amazing.

Maintenance and Support

If there's an issue with their room or plumbing, residents can call the front office, and the maintenance man will be notified (he runs on a ticket system). High-priority issues receive immediate attention. For other issues, residents typically call the office, and we strive to provide solutions to make them feel at home.

Family Engagement

We maintain close relationships with residents' families. We have all their information on emergency sheets because emergencies, sadly, do happen. We always inform them if an event happens. Family is always welcome to visit at any time (they can get a key to access the facility past the 9pm lockdown time as well). Families also call us for checks on a resident (if they aren't picking up the phone), which we always gladly do. If we notice a decline in health, the family is always updated. Since we have staff from 8am-10pm, most of us are in constant contact with residents and chat with them daily.

Current Offerings

At the moment we don't offer certain services and supports. However, we are a pet-friendly community allowing both dogs and cats (with some breed restrictions and required interviews).

Independent Living

Since we are fully independent living, some residents who need memory care or more fully attended assisted living might not be able to stay. Many of our residents have private caretakers (some even 24/7) to attend to their needs if it ever goes there. Currently, we have room availabilities, including sizes and pricing. There is an error on the site regarding deluxe rooms (we only have one left), so that size might possibly go on a waitlist in the near future.
