Could you provide an overview on the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
Staff consists of caregivers who assist residents with all ADL's, and MAC's that are certified to dispense medications. MAC's must pass a medication exam. State regulations require ALF's to receive training each month on certain topics such as Dementia, transfers, and recognizing the need for hospice.Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
Residents wear a call button at all times when assistance is needed. Residents are on a 2-hour checklist. Safety rails are in the bathrooms around toilets, as well as in the showers, with a shower bench and caregivers either standing by or fully assisting for safety.Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
New residents are introduced to our facility. Our Activity Director spends time with them to gather information regarding their interests and hobbies to help encourage them to participate in activities. Introductions from Cg's from each shift are performed to make the resident feel welcome and help them feel they are in a safe place, and that their needs will be met.Do you offer transportation services for residents?
There are no transportation services for residents provided by Ravenna. If a resident is capable, we use ABQ Sunvan, the Department of Senior Affairs, or Uber to transport to doctor appointments. To avoid these services, we have outside providers that become their new primary care physicians to help with the care of our residents.Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
Meals are prepared using a menu specifically designed for Assisted Livings. We have three chefs on staff, with all meals made here in our facility. Alternates are available for those not interested in what is on the menu for that meal. Snacks are served between meals. Hot and cold cereals are also available with breakfast. We can meet diet restrictions like diabetic, low sodium, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Water, coffee, tea, and ice are available throughout the day.What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
Any and all resident and family complaints and/or concerns are directed to me so I can investigate and resolve issues immediately. An explanation of what was done to resolve the issue is also provided. I work with families to ensure they are heard, and the family feels confident that their loved one is receiving the best care possible.What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
Communication can be made through emails or phone calls. Some families call daily to get updates by either talking with our MAC's, to our cg's, or a call to me. Documentation is made using our Quickmar system, as well as daily charting done by cg's so we can look back on it if needed when families have questions.Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
Respite care is available for families, as well as short-term stays. Our policy is at least one month at the same room rate for Private or Semi-private rooms. Ravenna does require a 30-day notice for exiting the facility.Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Revanna allows cats, as long as the resident is able to care for the pet themselves.Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Residents are kept up to date with all vaccinations for both Covid and Flu. Authorization is required from POA's. Albertsons Pharmacy provides our shot clinics here in our facility.Are residents able to age in place?
All of our residents can age in place as long as we can provide the care they need. If the decision is made to move to Hospice for end-of-life care, a care plan meeting will be conducted with families and the Hospice company of their choice to ensure the level of care is met. A private room is available.
