Our Commitment to Residents

Our team is very well-trained with our first priority always being our residents. We have a wide range of licensed care staff including Medication Technicians, Care Providers, Fitness Trainer, and a Nurse. All of our staff receive regular continuing education and maintain their licenses and certifications at all times. We ensure we’re staying up to date on any new techniques or care practices and do consistent trainings with our team in addition to regular all-team meetings.

24/7 Care and Accessibility

We offer 24/7 care and staffing which is a care and safety measure. Our Memory Care facility operates differently in terms of access and security, but our Independent and Assisted Living residents are able to come and go as they please. From 7:30am – 8pm, we have one open entry for visitors and business. However, residents and family members are given keys so they can access other entry points at any time.

Emergency Measures

Each resident room has a pull chord in the bathroom and bedroom which alerts our staff that a resident needs emergent help. Bathrooms also have walk-in or roll-in showers and safety bars in place to aid residents. Residents are also given the option to have an emergency pendant which is similar to Life Alert buttons that are GPS coordinated for our community and again alerts staff that a resident needs emergent help.

Transitioning and Engagement

No matter where a new resident was living right before moving in, it is always an adjustment for them so we ensure that residents are transitioning well to their new home and work hard to ensure their happiness. We try to pair residents up based on similar interests and introduce them to each other upon move-in. We also have regular activities and events, so we make sure to invite our new residents to participate. We also offer a New Resident Binder with a lot of information including a guide to our community.

Transportation Services

Transportation for residents within Visalia is included in rent. This means when they schedule a doctor appointment or schedule a ride to the mall, we will drive them. We also offer group outings and have a shuttle bus for residents to enjoy outings including to the coast, Fresno, and other places that residents share they’d like to go.

Dining Experience

Our dining experience is truly that – an experience. Our food is one of the things we are best known for in Visalia and our chefs do an excellent job to keep our residents and their guests happy. We offer all-day breakfast and have a restaurant-style experience where residents can enjoy a meal anytime they’d like from 7am – 7pm. We offer a full menu in addition to a daily special and residents get to choose what they’d like to enjoy each meal.

Addressing Concerns

If a resident is unhappy with any part of their new home here, we take it very seriously and handle matters on a case-by-case basis to ensure that each individual issue is being addressed and resolved. We encourage our residents to share their feedback with us regularly. We also include family members in those conversations when the resident wants to or if the family has voiced a concern.

Cost and Care Levels

Our costs vary by apartment size and care levels. Studios currently start at $5,050 per month, one-bedrooms start at $6,650 per month, and two-bedrooms start at $7,450 per month. Before a new resident moves in, our nurse does a physical and mental assessment of them and ranks their care needs with points. If they do decide to be an Assisted Living resident, then they are assigned a care level which ranges from Level 1 to Level 6. Level 1 care is $895 per month and increases through Level 6 which is $4,425 per month. Memory Care pricing is different, so please let me know if you are considering Memory Care for your family member.

Communication with Family

We regularly communicate with family members. Many residents’ loved ones visit frequently, and our team gets to see and interact with them often. The amount of communication really depends on the family’s preference and the resident’s preference, so it really is a case-by-case basis. Residents who are independent decide who they want information shared with and we abide by their wishes. In the case of an emergency, we would immediately call who they have identified as their emergency contact.

Lease Agreements

Our lease agreements are month-to-month, so typically stays are at least one month.

Pet-Friendly Environment

We are very pet-friendly and have many pets living with us here at Shannon Ranch.

Room Availability

We do have waitlists for certain rooms, but overall we currently have availability on some studios, (2) one-bedrooms that are currently being considered, and various two-bedrooms to choose from.

Health Partnerships

We regularly bring in outside partners to offer options for our residents, but as far as I know right now, our care staff is not providing COVID or flu vaccines to residents. However, I can confirm that and let you know.

Long-Term Care

Residents are able to stay in the new home they have chosen for themselves as they age. If care suddenly or gradually becomes needed or added, then we create or modify a care plan for them to ensure care is what they need as they age. If Independent or Assisted Living residents develop cognitive impairments where it starts affecting their abilities and their socialization, then they would be considered for our Memory Care community next door after many discussions with their family and authorized representatives.
