Overview of Staff and Training

Independent Living: Our staff includes a home health care group, Laurus Home Health Care, available 24/7, led by a wellness director. Caregivers undergo training in various areas.

Assisted Living: Staff includes caregivers, med techs, LPN nurses, a nurse supervisor, and a director of nursing. Training covers dementia care, transfer techniques, escorting, fall prevention, and personal care. A Geriatric nurse practitioner visits weekly.

Safety and Well-being Measures

Both independent and assisted living communities secure the front entrance after 8pm, with 24/7 staffing to allow after-hours visits. Residents are provided with pendants, optional for those in independent living.

Transition Support Services

We offer a resident ambassador program to help new residents integrate into the community, pairing them with long-standing residents with similar interests. New residents are welcomed by community leaders from various departments.

Transportation Services

Transportation is provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays within a 20-mile radius, with priority given to doctor's appointments.

Dining Experience

Both communities offer restaurant-style dining with an everyday menu and a chef special menu. Independent living includes two meals per day, while assisted living includes three.

Resident Complaints and Issues

Communities have a recommendation box and an open-door policy with the executive director. Monthly meetings with residents ensure the best experience, and serious complaints are promptly addressed. Monthly resident town halls and a resident council facilitate communication.

Cost of Living

Costs vary by apartment size, with independent living starting at $3000/month and assisted living at $4000/month. All-inclusive services differ slightly between living options, with additional costs for care in assisted living.

Communication with Families

Communities maintain frequent communication with families through newsletters, care conferences, and regular assessments for assisted living residents.

Short-term or Respite Stays

Independent living offers month-to-month leases, while assisted living recommends month-to-month leases over respite stays for cost-effectiveness.

Pet-Friendly Community

Both communities welcome pets with an additional monthly fee.

Waitlist Information

Independent living may have a short waitlist, while assisted living is nearing full occupancy, depending on apartment size.

Vaccination Clinics

Both communities have hosted flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics within the last year.

Age in Place

Our community supports aging in place, allowing residents to remain in the community as their needs change.

At StoryPoint Powell, we have several communities to fit your needs. At our South location we have an independent living neighborhood (with options to purchase personalized care packages). At our North location we have an assisted living neighborhood and a secured memory care neighborhood. Cost is dependent upon the community of interest and care levels.
