Overview of Professional Staff and Training
Our facility is led by a state licensed executive director, 2 LPN’s, a dining director, maintenance director, and program director who conducts our activities. We also have medication technicians, resident care assistants, housekeepers, and concierges. All employees receive state required training upon hire, and ongoing training continuing education. We also have a medical director who comes to our campus weekly and provides easy access to our nurses for whatever orders are needed –residents are not required to use our medical director as their primary care doctor, they can keep their outside physician and then our nursing team works with that doctor directly.
Safety and Well-Being of Residents
Residents are provided with a call pendant to wear, and there is also a call button system at bedside and in the bathroom. Calls are relayed via pager to the care staff, and can only be turned off when staff comes to the resident’s apartment. The care staff also has numerous touch points throughout the day for medication, morning and evening care, and with mealtime and any changes to the resident’s baseline are reported to the nurses or manager on duty.
Transition Support Services
We do have a relationship with a local service that specialized in helping seniors both relocate as well as help with clean outs. Was there anything else you were looking for with this question?
Transportation Services
Yes, both for medical appointments as well as for scheduled shopping trips and outings.
Dining Experience
All food is made onsite by our dining director. We have a 5 week dining rotational menu, which I’ve attached. You’ll see that our main meal of the day is served at lunchtime, which is something that our residents requested at our monthly resident council meeting, and the lighter meal is served in the evening. We also have anytime options that are available if a resident wants a different choice than what is offered – this features a hot dog, a ham & cheese sandwich (grilled or deli style) and turkey and cheese sandwich (also grilled or deli style).
Addressing Complaints and Issues
We encourage residents and family members to bring their concerns to us so they can be addressed by that department, and the nursing directors, business office manager and executive director are also available to address concerns.
Cost of Living
I’ve attached our rate schedule. Please note that our level of care and medication fees are based on the care needs of the individual resident, and that is determined after our nursing director does an assessment.
Communication with Residents' Families
We certainly encourage communication, which is often done by phone, but we can also email or text as well. For things that affect the entire community, we do have an email alert system that provides notification to families.
Short-Term or Respite Stays
The respite stay is available for 30 days and the base rate is $4800. We would still have the care level and medication fee charges depending on the resident’s needs.
Pet-Friendly Community
Yes we are! Residents are able to bring their cat or dog, but must be fully able to care for the animal themselves, it cannot be the responsibility of the staff. We have a one-time pet fee of $1000.
Waitlist Information
We do currently have availability.
Vaccinations
We have a yearly flu clinic in the fall of each year. If a resident comes after the clinic, we would ask that they get their flu vaccine outside the community. Likewise for COVID vaccinations, at this time we ask that residents do get them outside the community.
Aging in Place
Yes, and that is encouraged! We do have the ability to have hospice care provided to the residents to support them through end of life. Please note that we do need to adhere to the regulations for personal care homes, and there are some situations where we are no longer able to safely provide care in a personal care setting. We would work with the family to help provide placement assistance in a local nursing home should that level of care be needed.
