Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Yes, for 2 bedrooms and one bedrooms; also for memory care.
Could you share pricing and any other general information?
Yes, see attached.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
Yes, I can secure from nursing and get back. We have two Registered Nurses and two Licensed Practical Nurses, all licensed per the MN Board of Nursing. Okalee provides continuing education in the field of Geriatric nursing to meet their licensing requirements. We also have Caregivers; most are certified nursing assistants, and some are trained on site by the RN. All caregivers complete online training and in person training with the RN. The Caregivers are competency checked and supervised for the first 30 days and annually thereafter.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
Yes, I will send a separate follow up email. This is specific to each resident’s care plan and vulnerabilities.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
I need more clarification from you on this. The nursing staff and caregivers offer support as needed again depending on the needs of the person moving in and their known vulnerabilities.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
Yes, we have weekly shuttle services. We have a monthly offsite event with transportation. We provide (1) complimentary roundtrip transfer with a private transportation service. Other transfers can be purchased by the resident.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
We have a beautiful dining room with a gorgeous view of the marsh. We have tables of 2 to tables of 10 designed for personal seating preference. We offer 3 meals daily and lunch is our main meal. We have a daily special and we have an “everyday menu” residents can order from if they don’t like the special. Lots of compliments on the food offerings.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
There is a resident manual that outlines policies and procedures. Typically a resident either: makes a complaint/suggestion and puts it in the comment box, addresses it at the resident council meeting, or brings it to one of us on the executive team to resolve.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
For independent living residents, we send out a weekly email. For assisted living and memory care, residents' families are contacted by nursing. We also have a “Bridge” that resident families can log into to communicate.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
We do when we have space at $325 per day. We currently do not have any openings.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Yes, we allow small dogs, cats, birds, and fish.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes, we have provided covid vaccinations to assisted living and memory care residents who are on nursing services.
Are residents able to age in place?
Yes, you pick your apartment and as you need services we bring it to you. The only time we do not is when perhaps someone has memory care issues on the higher spectrum and need to be in our secured memory care area. The area is lovely.
