Assisted Living Safety Measures
In Assisted Living all of our residents receive pendants that they can wear as a necklace or bracelet. This pendant is waterproof and has fall detection. All of our care-staff carry pagers on them that alert them when a pendant is pressed. All pendant calls are answered within 5-10 minutes. The apartments also have grab bars and an alert button in the bathroom.
Memory Care Safety Measures
All apartments in Memory Care have pull cords that the residents can pull when they need assistance. Furthermore, these apartments have motion detectors in the main living space along with grab bars and an alert button in the bathroom. Our Memory Care Community or Traditions is a secured environment that is protected with a code. All points of entry/exit within Traditions have a code that must be entered to go in/out.
Community-Wide Safety Measures
We have wainscotting throughout the community that also serves functionally as hallway railings. Our hallways and walkways are large and spacious, allowing room for our residents in wheelchairs and scooters. We also have alert buttons in the Common Areas of our community and throughout. At 6:00pm our community doors lock and all residents and their families are given keycards to reenter.
Transportation Services
We do offer transportation services for our residents. We have a driver on staff who drives residents Monday-Friday to destinations within a 10-mile radius of the community. He takes residents to medical appointments Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he takes residents out to activities like going out to Red Rock Casino or out to the grocery store. We also have a bus that our driver uses. This bus is wheelchair accessible and can carry larger parties.
Dining Experience
Our dining experience here at Oakmont is state of the art. We have an Executive Chef on staff and well-trained cooks and servers. Our dining experience includes 3 specials a day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with a regular menu that residents can choose from. Our gorgeous Independent/Assisted Living Dining Room is open from 7:00am-7:00pm and is restaurant style with servers. In our community we also have a beautiful bistro, private dining room, and lounge. The bistro is open all day and is always stocked with fresh water, coffee, tea, and snacks. Our private dining room can be reserved at no cost for special events like birthdays, anniversaries, and dinners. In our lounge we serve alcohol, and our residents can enjoy a glass of wine while watching a Golden Knights game on our large TV. Our Traditions residents also enjoy the Traditions dining experience and have their own dining room. Our Traditions residents enjoy vitality smoothies and snacks throughout the day. Residents at Oakmont also enjoy the option to have their meals delivered to their apartment. All of our menus are thoughtfully designed by our Vice President of Culinary Services Chef Andrew Moret and are changed seasonally.
Resident Concerns and Complaints
Our Sr. Executive Director Elizabeth Hernandez is in the community Monday-Friday and is available to address any questions or concerns you may have. We also have Managers-on-duty in the community throughout the week, including the weekends, who can also address any questions or concerns you may have. Furthermore, we have a monthly Resident Council that allows our residents to voice any concerns or questions they may have.
