Overview of Staff and Training
Nurses at our facility are either Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Our Resident Assistants (RAs) provide non-medical care to the residents. While they are not licensed, several do have their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license, although this is not a requirement in assisted living as it would be in rehab.
We also have Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists who provide therapy for our residents.
All our staff receive required yearly dementia training and monthly updates as needed. Every member of our staff goes through an orientation before employment, which includes training on dementia and company policies. Additionally, the staff participates in monthly fire drills and other emergency drills. In-services are provided as needed by our administration.
Safety and Well-Being Measures
Assisted living residents are free to come and go as they please, but we do request that they sign out, so we know they are out in case of an emergency. Memory Care residents are also allowed to leave with signing out, provided it does not cause issues for their return. Some residents may find the change and over-stimulation from going out no longer beneficial.
The facility only has two doors open to the public during the day, which are locked from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Both staff and residents participate in monthly fire drills. Additionally, all residents have an alert pendant with GPS capability, allowing us to know where help is needed even when they are outside the building.
Resources and Support Services
Our staff is very good at helping new residents adjust. We assist them in navigating to the dining room, beauty salon, and other areas until they are comfortable. Our Life Enrichment team will remind them about activities to encourage participation. Our dining staff helps new residents find a table that fits them best, facilitating meeting new friends.
Transportation Services
We do not provide transportation to appointments but are more than willing to help residents find different options available in Gallatin. We do offer outings to places like Walmart, Walgreens, shopping centers, and restaurants as part of our monthly activities.
Dining Experience
Our dining room operates in a restaurant style where residents sit at a table and wait staff provide a menu. We offer two meal options for lunch and dinner, along with an always-available menu that includes salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, and more. Breakfast includes a variety of options such as pancakes, French toast, cereal, fruit, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. Snacks are available all day in our Bistro area.
Complaint or Issue Handling
Residents are encouraged to address any complaints or issues with their nurse or RA, who then informs their supervisor. If uncomfortable addressing it face-to-face, they or their family can call, write a letter, or email our nursing director, Community Relations Director, or administrator. Monthly resident meetings also provide a platform for residents to voice concerns, complaints, or compliments. In attendance are our Life Enrichment Director, Wellness Director, Dietary Director, Community Relations Director, and Administrator.
Communication with Residents' Families
Nurses communicate with families regarding any changes observed in the resident, such as falls, medication changes, or acute illnesses. Care plan meetings are held every 6 months for assisted living residents and every 3 months for memory care residents. Families are welcome to call anytime for updates on their loved ones.
Short-Term or Respite Stays
Our Bridge to Home program offers short-term stays with a minimum duration of 2 weeks and a maximum stay of 3 months, costing $200 per day. This includes all services received by full-time residents. If the resident and family decide to move in permanently after 3 months, they would need to pay the first monthโs rent for the chosen apartment and a $1,500 community fee.
Pet-Friendly Policy
We do not allow pets to live at our facility; however, we often have pet therapy sessions and events that include animals.
Vaccination Availability
Yes, we offer both Covid and flu vaccinations to residents within the community.
Aging in Place
We make every effort to enable residents to age in place. Our facility offers three levels of continuum care, allowing residents to transition from assisted living to memory care as needed, and then to long-term care if 24-hour nursing care becomes necessary. While this involves a change in location within the building, it ensures residents remain in a familiar environment with familiar staff. Currently, there is a waiting list for Memory Care, but there is availability in Assisted Living.
Assisted Living and Memory Care
Our assisted living is split into two areas: Assisted Living and Memory Care, which is a secure unit.
Floor Plans
We offer one bedroom and studio floor plans in both areas.
Pricing
The difference in pricing on the assisted living side is based on the location's proximity to the dining room. The closer to the dining room, the more expensive it is, as everyone wants to be near the dining room.
