FAQs
Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Currently I do not have a waitlist, but I will tell you my beds are filling up very quickly.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
Every employee must undergo full training in the field of CPR, Disaster Plans, Bad Weather implications, Infectious Precautions, Code of Ethics, Dementia Understanding and ways to help them refocus, regain their thoughts while remaining calm and reassuring. Each staff is either licensed or certified to work for us in their field of study. We have ongoing training throughout the year as well, and I know I am missing a lot.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
We have Disaster Plans, Bad Weather Implications, Elopement Precautions, Face Recognition and updated as needed to ensure Right Person/Right Medication/Right Time. We also use a coding system to lock the doors to ensure our Memory Care Residents are not at risk of eloping. Our front doors lock every evening around 7:30 – 8pm. If a visitor is coming in they will need to buzz in prior to getting into the building. During normal business hours each visitor is stopped at the front to ask who they are here for prior to going further in the Community. We also have routine rounding on our residents to not only ensure they are safe, but to ask if they are hungry, thirsty, in pain or need to go to the bathroom.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
Our staff has been carefully trained to understand and support those not only currently in our Community, but those new to us. When you are new its even more scary and intimidating, so we work hard to give those new and current the best feeling and understanding of knowing what they feel and are going through. This is done by having patience, love, a sense of belonging and understanding. Along with that we offer many activities to further enrich their sense of belonging. This will also give the sense and need of friendship as well as the feeling of being wanted/ needed because lets face it we all want to feel wanted and needed in life.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
We do have transportation. We do try our best to accommodate everyone’s needs, but there are a few times that we have to ask family members to step in and take their loved one to an appointment. The cause of this would be due to prior engagements with other residents.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
We offer two different menu’s. One of the menu’s is a Daily Special. It will show what the specials are for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. If someone does not like what is on that menu we have one that gives what we refer to as everyday choices. This is so you can always eat something that you are going to enjoy.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
They most certainly are encouraged to talk with their Nurse, the Director of Nursing, The Administrator or bring it up in Resident Counsel. Issues big or small are always welcomed as this is their Home and we would never want to turn a blind eye to someone’s complaint.
What is the cost of living in your community?
This is something that is better explained in person as there are various costs to go over, as well as a price difference in rooms.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
We offer Plan of Care meetings and anytime there is a change or concern family / POA would be notified promptly
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
We do offer respite and short-term stays. The costs of these are better explained in person to ensure we go over the correct need and room that would be needed.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
I know we have many visitors come in with their loved ones pets, but as far as the pet being able to stay I would need to find out and get back with you.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
We do offer a vast variety of vaccinations and those do include Covid and Flu vaccinations.
Are residents able to age in place?
Each stage of life is just as precious as the previous one, and this is why we absolutely offer the ability to age in place.
