Community Details
This detailed information was received through an email from the Admissions Coordinator at Medilodge Of Monroe via email on 2024-01-17.
Our Professional Staff
The type of professionals we have for staff consists of Administrator, Director of Nursing (DON), Activity Director, (2) social workers, Dietician, RN's, LPN's, CNA's, activity aides, business office manager, admissions, staff development coordinator, human resources, dietary aides, maintenance, and our therapy department. Each staff member gets 2-4 weeks of training depending on the department. We also offer continuous education that is required to be completed monthly by all staff as well. Some departments may have different education requirements depending on their licenses/certifications.
Safety Measures
Some safety measures we have in place to ensure the safety of our residents include screening all visitors/staff/outside companies (hospice, doctors, lab) upon arrival. When new residents arrive, we conduct skin assessments upon admission and therapy evaluates them within 24 hours. We also have safety measures put in place for any residents who may be a fall risk, or for those who wander as well.
Resources/Support Services
Some resources/support services we offer to residents during their transition into the facility/community include providing a follow-up meeting called a "72-hour meeting". This meeting consists of our MDS nurses, therapy director, social worker, and our business office manager discussing any concerns they may have, questions regarding their stay, and they also talk about their discharge process and what it's going to take to get the resident back home (if they're here with us for physical therapy).
Transportation and Dining
We have a wheelchair van that we utilize for transportation to and from appointments or outings. Our driver is licensed and a CNA always goes with them to appointments, and for outings CNA's & a nurse accompany them. We have 3 dining rooms in our facility catering to different needs and locations within the facility, ensuring all residents have access to meals in a manner that suits their preferences and needs.
Handling Complaints
Complaints are usually directed towards the floor staff first, and from there it goes up the ladder. Our nurse managers are usually the first staff to address and fix any concerns or issues. The staff that takes care of the complaint will depend on the topic of the complaint from the resident. We always try to take care of the concern the day of and follow up as needed.
Cost and Care Conferences
The cost of living is $276/day. We offer monthly care conferences with the resident & their family to go over any concerns they may have. We also offer an online option where family members can have access to the care plan, vital signs, doctor notes, labs, etc. Family is also contacted if there is ever an incident, emergency, or a decline with their loved one.
Short-term and Respite Stays
We do offer short-term and respite stays, that cost is the same as above, $276/day. Our facility is pet-friendly as long as you're able to provide proper documentation for the animal (shots/records).
Waiting List and Vaccinations
We do currently have people waiting for our facility. We offer COVID & Flu vaccinations to all residents; our infection control nurse sets those dates up and reaches out to all residents & their families asking if they want them to receive it.
Aging in Place
Yes, our residents here are able to age in place. We have had a range of ages here at MediLodge from 21-105. It just depends on the services the resident is in need of.
