Overview of Professionals and Training
Our staff at Marian Manor includes a diverse range of professionals with extensive experience and dedication. Key members include our Executive Director with nearly 13 years at Marian Manor, our Life Enrichment Administrator with 34 years of service, licensed nurses available 24/7, and our Director of Nursing with a hospice background. Training encompasses orientation, computer modules, shadowing, monthly safety and infection control sessions, and one-on-one interactional training. Additionally, we have medical doctors, dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, and other specialists providing care to our residents.
Safety and Well-being Measures
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff is a top priority. Measures include locked front doors with entry codes for families and staff, surveillance cameras, safety inspections, meal check-offs, emergency pull cords in rooms, and resident councils. We also conduct regular safety trainings and have comprehensive evacuation plans in place.
Support Services for New Residents
To aid in the transition into our community, we offer a Resident Ambassador program, one-on-one orientations with managers, evaluations by our rehab department, and a welcoming environment that includes balance classes and personalized care plan meetings.
Transportation Services
Our transportation services include weekly outings for shopping, banking, and recreational activities, as well as transportation to doctor appointments every Wednesday.
Dining Experience
Our dining room operates like a restaurant, offering residents a choice of soups, entrees, heart-healthy, and plant-based options. Residents are greeted by a hostess and can order from a menu at each meal.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Residents can report issues through our active resident council, food/dining committee, or directly to our Life Enrichment Administrator. We also offer care conferences and have a Manager on Duty during weekends and holidays to address concerns.
Communication with Residents' Families
We maintain open communication with families through phone calls, in-person or virtual meetings, and monthly email updates. Additional updates are provided as needed.
Short-term or Respite Stays
While normally full, we may offer respite stays with a minimum of 30 days, depending on availability.
Pet-Friendly Community
We welcome pets and currently have 2 cats, a bird, and a certified therapy dog named Duce’. We also have regular visits from the SPCA.
Vaccination Clinics
We host annual vaccine clinics for COVID-19, flu, and RSV for both staff and residents.
Aging in Place
Our goal is for residents to age in place, with a dedicated unit for those requiring more care and partnerships with sister communities for higher levels of care when needed.
