Nursing Assistant Certification & Training
All our Nursing Assistants are required to be State Tested and Certified. For our nurses, we conduct various types of in-services to keep them trained and ensure we maintain the quality of care for our residents. For instance, we provide training in Dialysis, IV therapy, caring for certain behaviors in our secured psych unit, wound care, and much more. Before a resident with specific care needs is admitted, our Director of Nursing (DON) will provide training for all nurses.
Social Services Training
In addition to nursing staff, our social services department undergoes training for counseling services.
Secured Units
We have multiple secured units for residents diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimer's, and psych mental illnesses to prevent wandering. We also offer a "wonder guard" bracelet for residents who need to be monitored for safety but don't require a secured unit. Residents who are autonomous can sign themselves out and leave with family as they please.
Transition to Community
For smooth transitions into the community, we sign residents up for home healthcare through their insurance before discharge to ensure they continue receiving quality care.
Transportation Services
Our facility provides transportation to appointments via our buses, which can accommodate wheelchairs, IV poles, etc. Depending on the level of care needed, an STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) or nurse may accompany them. If a gurney is required, we arrange transportation through a company that bills their insurance.
Dining Services
Residents can dine in unit-specific dining rooms where food is served to them. Additionally, we have a dining hall downstairs with a restaurant-like setting where residents can order meals from a menu.
Problem Resolution
If residents or families have issues, they can speak to the nursing staff if it's a clinical issue. For unresolved problems, our Director will intervene. We conduct weekly rounds to address resident concerns and have a meeting with staff to find solutions. Resident Council meetings also allow residents to voice concerns, which we strive to address.
Private Pay Cost
Our private pay cost is $330 per day, including a private room, three meals a day, and a guaranteed hold if the resident goes to the hospital. We accept various insurances and long-term care payers like Medicaid. Our Business Office Director, Carla, assists families with the process.
Family Communication
Our facility operates 24/7, allowing families to visit anytime. With residents' permission, or if they are on the resident's contact list, families can call for updates and speak with the nurse or unit manager for information.
Short Term Therapies
We offer short-term physical, occupational, and speech therapies. We also provide Respite stays longer than seven days with corporate approval.
Pet Policy
Residents cannot bring their pets, but we have hypoallergenic animals that visit for therapeutic purposes through our activities department.
Infectious Disease Management
We have an Infectious Disease Nurse on-site who coordinates with our pharmacy partner, Remedi, for vaccination needs, along with other resident health requirements.
Aging in Place
We do not discharge residents due to changes in the level of care required. Residents can move to a secured unit if needed or receive hospice care within the facility. We do not have a waitlist and accept insurance or private pay at $330 a day. Our facility is entirely private, with no shared rooms, and offers on-site physical and occupational therapy.
