We do not have a wait list for assisted living.
Everyone single person on staff is certified in CPR. Our care staff are all certified CNA's. Our med techs are certified CNAs with additional certifications in medicine administration. Management staff (Executive Director, Marketing Director, Maintenance Director, Activities Director, Services Director, Dietary Manager and Wellness Director and Business Office Manager) all have the required certifications and/or licenses in their respective departments. All staff are required keep their continued education hours up to date, attend various seminars, classes, meetings, etc. in order to continually learn of new senior living requirements and/or changes. In addition, we are monitored by and report to the State of Georgia as required. They perform scheduled and random checks to ensure all protocols are followed. They also perform unscheduled audits of our records, medication carts, and interview staff and residents for quality assurance. In addition, Guardian Pharmacy also conducts both scheduled and random audits of medication carts.
For safety and well-being for assisted living residents
We perform the required wellness checks every two hours at a minimum. Since our community emphasizes participation in activities and events our two activities directors interact with residents throughout the day. In addition, our med techs are in the community dispensing medications, executive staff are up and down the hallways throughout the day, and caregivers are with them throughout the day to assist in resident's care needs. All apartments have two emergency call buttons that must be responded to within 2 minutes. Palliative and hospice care is available if needed.
In addition, our community is fenced in on three sides (except for parking lot and main entry). All visitors must sign in so we know who is in the building at all times. Residents are required to sign out if they leave the building and sign back in when they return. Routing fire/emergency drills are performed. Maddie's call protocols are practiced routinely. All required inspections such as exterminating services, structural assessments, county health (dietary-we scored 95 in our kitchen!), and other routine maintenance and other required local, state and federal inspections are monitored by their respective departments to ensure safety.
To further ensure the well-being of our residents, we offer a variety of activities and events to meet the social, physical, spiritual, recreational, educational, and emotional needs of our residents. There are usually 4-5 activities per day to include things like table/board and other games, exercise classes, sewing classes, Bible studies/Praise and worship services, cultural events, seminars/classes, live entertainment, gardening, arts/crafts, movies, and the list goes on! We also take residents on trips to the senior center to enjoy activities with other seniors (swimming, games, parties, etc.). Other trips include shopping, movies, parks, libraries, stores, scenic rides, and other places of interest to our residents. Families are encouraged and welcome to participate in any or all activities/events. We also have a family event every month, usually in the evenings and can be a meal w/entertainment, cookout/picnic, luaus complete with Hawaii dancers!), scavenger hunt, and who knows what else we will come up with!
To assist in transition
Our wellness director will make an initial visit and perform an assessment before the move in. We provide welcome baskets, and executive staff will visit new residents within 1-2 days of move in. Our activities team will also be given a copy of the resident interest's information to ensure they have or will have activities of their specific interests. Some of our residents will also make a personal visit to introduce themselves. I am also happy to meet with new residents before move in so they will have two familiar faces before they even move in.
Transportation to/from scheduled activities/events is provided.
Transportation to doctors' appointments, etc. is not provided and will be up to the family to set up that transportation. However, we do have primary care physician services, podiatry services, salon services, and pharmacy services to assist in limiting outside transportation needs. These are all optional services with the exception of the pharmacy. Residents are required to use Guardian Pharmacy for medicines.
Our menus are created and monitored by the State
to ensure they are balanced and nutritious. All meals are cooked in-house meaning cooked fresh daily (no packaged meals) with the exception of some desserts such as pies, cakes. Residents can choose between two different meal options for lunch and dinner. In addition, if they don't like those options, we have an "always available" menu that they can order from. The food here is really good! We also adhere to required dietary restrictions such as low-sodium, soft mechanical, pureed, and food allergies. Our apartments come with a dorm-sized refrigerator and counter/cabinet space for snacks/drinks. Assisted living residents can have a coffee pot (we prefer Keurig), microwave, and/or toaster. Also, two snacks are provided each day and snacks are usually provided at activities.
Resident/family concerns, issues, and complaints
are taken seriously by our management team. We have protocols in place for reporting. Our Executive Director is also happy to meet with families to discuss issues and ensure they are addressed and resolved as appropriate. We also have a monthly resident council meeting where residents provide feedback, ideas, suggestions, concerns, complaints and compliments concerning each department. This is to ensure residents have ownership in the community and we are made aware of concerns. Family feedback is highly encouraged. We certainly can't fix and issue if we are not made aware of it. Resident and family satisfaction is what keeps us in business!

In emergency
we will assess resident to see if they need emergency services. If so, we call 911 and then the family. If not, we will call you to let you know about the incident so you are made aware of it. Families are welcome to call the community to ask about their family member. Our wellness director will also routinely call to let you know how your family is doing overall. Anytime there is a concern, change in condition, etc., you will be notified. We also adhere to all required reporting requirements. Care plans are created with family input and residents are routinely assessed as required. We encourage family involvement and are happy to answer calls or meet with families regarding care.
No short-term or respite stays are offered at our community
due to the high demand of long-term assistance.
We are pet friendly!
Small cats and dogs as long as shots are up to date (proof required). There is an additional one-time pet fee of $500. Breeds and size are limited. Residents must be able to care for their pet. If they become unable to do so, the pet will have to move out of the community as we don't provide any pet services.
Yes-they can get vaccines here!
Residents can indeed age in place.
We have additional support services to ensure this such as home health care, palliative, and memory care.
