Fee Policy Statement

The following statement of our fees and charges for providing services under the Michigan Home for the Aged Licensure as defined by Public Act 218 of 1979, as well as services included in the basic rate or available for an additional charge:

Basic Rate $5,227.00 per month (studio)

$5,881.00 - $6,871.00 per month (one bedroom)

Second Person in Apartment $1,000.00 - $1,750.00 per month

Services Included in Basic Rate:

• Room, Board and 24 hour supervision
• Locked facility with audible alarms
• Wearable Nurse Call
• Three nutritionally balanced meals served daily in the dining room. Meals will be provided to the resident if they are ill and unable to come to the dining room. Snacks are available upon request 24/7.
• Weekly cleaning of apartment
• Weekly laundering of linens and personal clothing
• In home recreational activities
• Personal Care, Per Resident Care Agreement such as bathing, dressing, toileting and hygiene
• Assessment planning
• Medication administration
• Nursing Services
• Transportation for facility activities
• Direct TV

Services Available, but not part of the Basic Rate:

• Beautician and Barber: Fees charged by provider to resident
• Physician Services: fees charged by provider to resident/insurance
• Podiatry, Optometry, Audiology, Dental and other Physician Services: Charge by provider, billed to resident/insurance
• Medications: Provided by local pharmacy, in blister packs, billed to resident/insurance
• Incontinent supplies, briefs, Depends as provided by facility at resident request
• Personal hygiene, grooming cosmetic items, other than hand soap provided by resident
• Massage Therapy above the one free per month, billed to resident
• Medical/Nursing supplies: billed by the provider to the resident
• Laboratory Services, services billed by provider to the resident/insurance
• Special craft materials that are not part of normal activity routine, special outings such as restaurants, movies are billed to the resident
• Phone/Cable hook up provided, services billed by the provider to the resident
• Therapies: Physical, Occupational, Speech; Services billed by provider to the resident/insurance
• Equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, bedside commode; Costs billed to resident/insurance company
• Carpet cleaning, furniture cleaning; billed to resident by facility
• Disposing of furniture such as; mattresses, dressers, reclining chairs, wood/metal chairs, and walkers
• Guest meals; charged on resident’s bill
• Tray delivery to resident apartment; billed to resident
• Dry Cleaning Service

Overview of Professional Staff and Training

We have 1.5 FTE of RN’S on our staff. The remaining are caregivers, some are certified nurse aides and others are not. All must have at least 6 months experience. Our staffing ratio is 1 to 12 on day shift, 1 to 12 on afternoon and 1 to 20 on the night shift. This only is for the caregivers. We do CPR training on all staff.

Safety and Well-being Measures

We are a locked down building. So no one can go out of the building without a badge, key fob or the access code. We have a reception desk which is staffed 8-4:30 M – F and 10-4pm Sat and Sun.

Transition Support Services

We have a full time chaplain, full time social worker and activities staff that all help with the transition.

Transportation Services

We do offer this, but it is first come first serve basis.

Dining Experience

We have a dining room, three meals served from there. There is a set menu, if someone doesn’t like an item, we have an always available menu they can choose from.

The Director of the building handles complaints.

We hold quarterly meetings with family members to discuss.

Short-term or Respite Stays

1 month at a time, it is $6,500 for the month.

Pet Policy

No resident can have a pet in our AL, but in the IL, they can have a small dog or cat.
